SCHOLARSHIP AWARD PROGRAM

: Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, the first black sorority in American, was organized at Howard University, Washington, D.C. in January 1908. The sorority was conceived as an instrument for enriching the social and intellectual aspect of college life.

Over eight decades of growth have produced from one group, which had nine members, to a national organization with a membership of over one hundred thousand. The members equate to the worth of the organization with its value to the various communities of which it is part.

As one means of encouraging special talent, rewarding outstanding achievements, and recognizing high ethical and moral standards among high school students, Tau Omicron Omega plans to award three (4) five hundred dollar ($500.00) scholarships to help four students continue his/her post secondary education.

ELIGIBILITY

Any student completing high school work during the present school year is eligible to apply for the scholarship.
