st Professional Projects are due April 1 by 11:59 EST to [email protected]! The professional project provides chapters with the opportunity to develop and

implement a project that exemplifies the purposes of Phi Upsilon Omicron.

Specifically, a well-developed project recognizes and promotes academic excellence and enhances qualities of leadership by allowing chapter members to utilize the skills and knowledge they have gained as Family and Consumer Sciences majors to serve individuals, families, and/or the community. A true professional project also encourages lifelong learning and commitment to advance FCS by going beyond simply implementing a service project. It provides members with the opportunity to enhance their leadership skills and

encourages commitment to the field by allowing them to employ their

professional knowledge while serving others The National Winner receives a plaque and monetary award of $150 for their

Phi Chapter! Additional cash prizes ranging from $50 – $100 are presented

I served my first term as Region 1 Collegiate Chair in 2016-2018, and I’m excited to serve my second term as Collegiate Chair! I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stout in December, and I now teach middle school Family & Consumer Sciences courses, including culinary, fashion and interior design! I owe my career goals to Phi U as I am continuing my education to eventually teach Family Education- related courses at a university. Becoming active in Phi U is the BEST thing I did while in college! Region 2- Max Goldstein

I graduated from Western Kentucky University in the Summer of 2019 with a degree in Nutrition/Dietetics and a second in Horticulture. Throughout my undergrad, I did not know much about Phi Upsilon Omicron, but since my induction I have received nothing beyond positivity and great leadership experiences both in my chapter and on a national level. Currently I am finishing my Dietetic Internship in Hawaii and plan to take the national exam in the fall. I hope to work in educational policy changing core curriculum in our national public- school system. Region 3- Jessica Askins

I was inducted into Phi-U in 2016. I have held the position as the Gamma Chapter’s President from 2017- 2018. I graduated with my Bachelors in the Spring of 2018 and have been accepted into Oklahoma State’s Marriage and Family Therapy master’s program. Through my time with Phi U, I have built strong connections both professionally and personally that have led to greater opportunities and experiences. I am so grateful to be a part of a group that is so encouraging and passionate about everything they do.

Region 4- Destiny Jorenby

I recently graduated from South Dakota State University with a bachelor’s degree in Human Development & Family Studies. I was initiated in Phi chapter in 2016 and served as their Vice President during the 2018-19 year. My favorite thing about Phi U is that I’ve gotten to meet, serve, and work with the wonderful people that make up Phi U through being an active member of my chapter and by serving as the Region #4 Collegiate Representative. It has been so great getting to know the many members of Phi U, and I hope to meet more members in the future!
