Post-Treatment Instructions: Intense Pulsed (IPL) Reduction v A mild -like sensation is expected which usually lasts 10-15 minutes, but can persist up to 2-3 days. Mild swelling, tenderness and/or redness may also be present during the same time period. v Apply ice/gel packs to the treated area for 15 minutes each hour for the next four hours as needed. For more intense reactions, oral acetaminophen or ibuprofen may be taken to reduce discomfort and/or swelling. Take according to the manufacturer’s instructions. v In rare cases, prolonged redness or blistering may occur. Treated areas may be temperature-sensitive. Cool showers or baths will offer relief. Avoid scrubbing, exfoliants, scrub brushes and loofah sponges until the treated area has returned to normal. v Apply a with at least an SPF of 30 to prevent any persistent color change. v If your skin becomes dry and itchy after the treatment, apply a twice a day until the symptoms resolve. v The appearance of hair growth or stubble will continue for the 7-30 days post-treatment, depending on the area.
