The effort to declassify this report has been accomplished specifically to support the Department of Defense Nuclear Test Personnel Review (NTPR) Program. The objective is to facilitate studies of the low levels of radiation received by some individuals during the atmospheric nuclear test program by making as much information as possible available to all interested parties. The material which has been deleted is either currently classified as Restricted Data or Formerly Restricted Data under the provisions of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954 (as amended), or is National Security Information, or has been determined to be critical military information which could reveal system or equipment vulnerabilities and is, therefore, not appropriate for open publication. The Defense Nuclear Agency (DNA) believes that though all classified material has been deleted, the report accurately portrays the contents of the original. DNA also believes that the deleted material is of little or no significance to studies into the amounts, or types, of radiation received by any individuals during the atmospheric nuclear test program. Dedicated professional staff located in Anchorage, Fairbanks, and Kenai Fish and Wildlife Offices and the Anchorage Conservation Genetics Laboratory serve as the core of the Program’s fisheries management study efforts. Canadian Forces (CF) personnel are required to make assessments of the effects of meteorological, oceanographic, and/or ice conditions (hereafter referred to as “Met Effects”), on the operation of CF equipment. The current methods of assessing Met Effects for the CF rely on a suite of standard NATO criteria and manual or semi-automated processes. More sophisticated systems exist that offer improved estimates through automated software applications. One such system, Navy Integrated Tactical Environmental System, Variant II Redesign (NITES IIR or N2R), is a sophisticated Met Effects assessment application with performance degradation predictions for known capabilities. For each specific piece of equipment, the N2R application forms an assessment based on certain aspects of the equipment's operating characteristics and technical specifications and how they react to varying meteorological, oceanographic, or ice conditions.

Do owego zbioru, mającego cechy otwartości możemy bez wątpienia zaliczyć działania zaopatrzeniowe będące kluczowym elementem wojskowego systemu logistycznego. Współczesne warunki prowadzenia sojuszniczych i międzynarodowych działań militar- nych oraz pokojowych, a także stabilizacyjnych, mających najczęściej charakter ekspedycyjny wymuszają poszukiwanie nowych rozwiązań funkcjonalno – technicznych i unifikacyjnych w celu zoptymalizowania sprawności działania narodowych podsystemów zaopatrzeniowych. Optymalizacja techniczno - unifikacyjna i będąca jej pochodną optymalizacja funkcjonalna narodowych podsystemów zaopatrywania jest podporządkowana idei kompatybilności2 na po- ziomie wykonawczym umożliwiającym opcjonalną realizację zadań zaopatrzeniowych w sojusz- niczej przestrzeni operacyjnej. W tym kierunku ewoluują systemy zaopatrzeniowe wielu państw członków NATO. Największe jednak osiągnięcia posiadają armie Wielkiej Brytanii, Stanów Zjednoczonych, Francji oraz Niemiec.     Bandvagnar för rörlighet i terrängen Av Nils Sköld Under tiden från andra världskriget och fram till i dag har vi i Sverige kunnat utveckla och tillverka vapen och annan utrustning för vårt försvar, som hävdat sig mycket bra i jämförelse med vad som producerats i andra länder. Detta beror till stor del på ett nära och bra samarbete mellan försvarets myndigheter och en tekniskt högtstående industri. I denna artikel behandlas bandvagnarna. Rörlighet i terräng kan ha en avgörande betydelse, när det gäl­ ler att lösa försvarsuppgifterna till lands. I norra Sverige försvåras rörligheten vintertid av djup snö och stark kyla. Ofta faller snön innan marken har frusit. Under snön är därför marken mjuk sär­ skilt på myrar och annan blötmark. Under beredskapstiden och åren närmast därefter löstes frågan om rörlighet genom att skidtruppen själv med spårpatruller och -plutoner gjorde ett spår, som medgav att man kunde dra pulkor i det. Detta tog lång tid och var mycket ansträngande. Förbindelser för underhåll och understöd åstadkoms med anspända plogpluto­ ner. Tramphästar gående bakom varandra gjorde ett spår i den djupa snön. Detta vidgades sedan av tre hästdragna plogar med efter hand ökad bredd på plogvingarna. I detta spår kunde man köra slädar, samt kärror och lätta artilleripjäser utrustade med medar. Framryckningshastigheten vid plogning var 1 —2 km i tim­ men. Under andra världskriget hade i USA utvecklats ett lätt band­ fordon ”Weasel”. Detta hade under kriget i första hand använts i sumpig djungelterräng. Erfarenheterna visade att det också hade goda egenskaper i snö. Efter krigets slut köpte svenska armén bil­ ligt ett antal sådana överskottsfordon.
