Hi! Our names are Jonathan and Vio- lette and we want to be adopted togeth- er! Jonathan and Violette are siblings of Caucasian descent who are looking to be adopted together! Those who know Jonathan best describe him as energet- ic and kind. He likes to be active outside, especially going for walks, playing in the sandbox, riding his bike and watering the garden. Jonathan also likes to build with Legos and watch movies, and enjoys pre- tend play. He particularly likes to play “po- Jonathan and Violette liceman” and “school bus” driver. Jonathan is Age 5 and 6 starting to like to play sports and has recently tried basketball and soccer. Jonathan is doing very well at his current program, and has made great gains in fol- lowing directions and communicating his thoughts and feelings. He has built strong rela- tionships with all of the staff and likes to tell them that he loves them. He also gets along well with his peers. He is in a separate classroom with a high teacher-to-student ratio. His teachers say that he is doing “amazing” in this setting and he has started to spend time in a mainstream classroom. Violette is described as a happy child who likes to please the adults in her life. She is engaging and funny but also enjoys playing independently. Her pony and horses eating and playing favorite activity is coloring and drawing, as well as building with blocks and playing with dolls. She also likes to go outside to play at the playground. She especially enjoys playing in the sandbox and at the water table. Violette is currently attending preschool, where she receives extra supports to help her follow directions. Jonathan and Violette are very much looking forward to finding a supportive and patient family where they can live together again. An ideal family structure for them is an experi- enced two-parent family, either with no other children in the home or with children older than they are. Jonathan and Violette are ready for adoption and visit with their biological parents twice a year. Who Can Adopt? Can you provide the guidance, love and stability that a child needs? If you’re at least 18 years old, have a stable source of income, and room in your heart, you may be a perfect match to adopt a waiting child. Adoptive parents can be single, married, or partnered; ex- perienced or not; renters or homeowners; LGBTQ singles and couples. The process to adopt a child from foster care requires training, interviews, and home visits to determine if adoption is right for you, and if so, to help connect you with a child or sibling group that your family will be a good match for. To learn more about adoption from foster care, call the Massachusetts Adoption Re- source Exchange (MARE) at 617-6273 or visit www.mareinc.org. The sooner you call, the sooner a waiting child will have “a permanent place to call HOME.” This space is provided by:

Saltwater fishing this past week had numerous anglers calling me about some great fishing experiences for strip- ers, fluke, and seabass. AUBURN – Sweltering heat suited the 4th of July crowd well as Auburn celebrated Independence Day a couple days early on Sunday. As with previous years, the event sprawled over Pappas Recreation Area, with live music and brief introductory formalities at the bandstand, numerous food and other vendors along the street, and carnival attractions in one of the ball fields. Several candidates running for state and federal office strolled the crowd, as did some petitioners for November ballot questions. But for most of the thousands of people in attendance, it was a day for fun, family, friends, food and, later, fireworks.
