    ANTEPRIMA TORINODANZA FESTIVAL 2018 DEBUTTA IL 17 E IL 18 MAGGIO ALLE FONDERIE LIMONE MONCALIERI “BETROFFENHEIT” COREOGRAFIA E DIREZIONE DELLA CANADESE CRYSTAL PITE - SPETTACOLO INSERITO NELLA STAGIONE DEL TEATRO STABILE DI TORINO – TEATRO NAZIONALE L’edizione 2018 di Torinodanza si apre alle Fonderie Limone di Moncalieri il 17 maggio 2018 alle 20.45 (con replica il 18 maggio alle 20.45) con il debutto, in prima nazionale e unica data italiana, di Betroffenheit creato dalla coreografa Crystal Pite e dall’attore drammaturgo Jonathon Young, entrambi canadesi. Questa “anteprima” realizzata in collaborazione con il Teatro Stabile di Torino – Teatro Nazionale costituisce il biglietto da visita del Festival e prelude all’ormai abituale programmazione autunnale di Torinodanza (10 settembre - 1 dicembre) che inaugurerà definitivamente nel mese di settembre. Betroffenheit, con la coreografia e la direzione di Crystal Pite, è un esempio di fusione di danza e teatro contemporanei che lega la Stagione di prosa del Teatro Stabile con l’anteprima del Festival. «La storia del trauma vissuto da Jonathon Young (la morte della figlia e della nipote a causa di un incendio n.d.r.), il suo personale Betroffenheit è al centro di questa avventura. Jonathon mi ha coinvolto nella sfida di utilizzare le nostre discipline artistiche per lottare contro la sofferenza e il suo coraggio mi ha permesso di mostrare coerenza. Sono molto riconoscente per questa opportunità di essere al suo fianco per guardare in questo difficile terreno che è il dolore e di esplorarlo in un onesto processo di creazione. Sono stata sorpresa di constatare la gioia che è nata all’interno di questo progetto e profondamente commossa per la curiosità di Jonathon che si è dato a cuore aperto.

Tired of enduring kiddie games to humour a Dad desperate for the occasional shred of family normalcy, the Field house is a place where their Mom’s semi-catatonic state is the result of a tragic event years before they were born. But as the autumn unfolds, life is about to take a turn. This is the year that Lou and her sisters are torn between the lure of the world outside and the claustrophobic world of the Field house that can no longer contain the girls’ restless adolescence. A story of a calamitous family trying to function, Falling Angels is a story populated by beautiful youthful rebels and ill-equipped parents coping with the draw of a world in turmoil beyond the boundaries of home and a manicured lawn. 2 Long Synopsis Treading the fine line between adolescence and adulthood, the Field sisters have all but declared war on their domineering father. Though Jim Field (Genie and Gemini winner Callum Keith Rennie ) runs the family house like a military camp, it’s the three teenaged daughters who really run the show and baby-sit their fragile mother Mary, (Two-time Oscar ® nominee Miranda Richardson) as she quietly sits on the couch and quells her anxiety with whiskey. A special look at our team members, divisions and specialties along with our various programs, outreach initiatives and year-end statistical information. We faced many challenges in 2018. The Noblesville School shooting sparked an outcry throughout central Indiana to closely examine our preparedness and school safety. Through a cooperative partnership between the Westfield Washington Schools and the Police Department, many changes were made to increase the safety of our most precious treasure, our children. We added two school resource officers and an explosive detection K9. We also created Police Substations in each of our schools and encouraged officers to conduct school visits to further increase visibility. The Indianapolis Colts moving their training camp to Grand Park, creating another challenge for our department in 2018. Providing staffing for the multiple week event tested our team in ways we had never experienced before. By utilizing each member of our department, and the dedicated volunteers of our Citizens’ Academy Alumni Association, we assembled a team that provided a safe environment for the Colts and all who attended.
