Experience the flair of South Tyrol on holiday in the Merano/Meran region. This exciting trip has many hairpin bends and seven passes waiting for you. From the Hotel Tirolensis in Tesimo/Tisens, you will drive to Lana – Marlengo/Marling to the spa town of Merano/Meran. Here, you can visit the beautiful Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle. In over 80 garden landscapes, with a height difference of 100 metres, a wide variety of plants from all over the world bloom and thrive. After this first stop, continue via Meltina/Mölten and San Genesio/Jenesien to Bolzano/Bozen. The provincial capital of South Tyrol awaits you with a varied programme: shopping, tradition, culture, and modernity. The tour continues to Ponte Gardena/Waidbruck, San Pietro/St. Peter, and over the Pinei Pass/Panider Sattel (1,442 m) to Ortisei/St. Ulrich. Now the Dolomite pass experience begins! Over the Gardena Pass/Grödner Joch (2,121 m), the Campolongo Pass (1,875 m), and the Pordoi Pass (2,239 m) – on this route, the impressive mountain panorama invites you to pull over and take a photo. After a winding section, continue to Alba, over the Fedaia Pass (2,057 m) to Rocca Pietore, Alleghe, and past the Alleghe Lake (lake tour with a view of the majestic mountains). Continue over the San Pellegrino Pass (1,918 m) to Ronchi, Moena, Predazzo until Cavalese in Val di Fiemme. The Palazzo of the Magnifica Comunità di Fiemme is one of the most beautiful buildings in Trentino. There you will also find the museum and the Pinakothek. After the last stop on this tour, take the next winding section with the San Lugano Pass (1,097 m), the Lavazè Pass (1,805 m) to Novale/Rauth. Continue over the wellknown Oclini Pass/Jochgrimm (2,439 m) with the mountain twins Corno Nero/Schwarzhorn and Corno Bianco/Weißhorn, Aldino/Aldein and Ora/Auer to Pineta/Steinmannwald. From here, you will start your way back to the Hotel Tirolensis, passing through Terlano/Terlan and Nalles/Nals. An unforgettable holiday experience in the Merano/Meran region!

TOUR TIP: the Stelvio Pass/Stilfser Joch experience (approx. 260 km)

Experience the mountains up close in your car? It’s easy on holiday in the Merano/Meran region. With 2,757 metres of altitude difference and 48 hairpin bends, experienced tour drivers will be amazed on this route. Start at the Hotel Tiro- lensis in Tesimo/Tisens and cross right at the beginning of the Palade Pass/Gampenjoch (1,512 m), drive to Fondo, Revó, and the Santa Giustina Lake. Here, you can take a coffee break and enjoy the beautiful view of the lake. Continue to Malé, Fucine via the Tonale Pass (1,884 m) and the Gavia Pass (2,621 m) to Santa Caterina. During the trip over the passes, there are numerous spots to stop and take photos! The tour continues through Valfurva and Bormio and from there you reach the absolute tour highlight: the Stelvio Pass/Stilfser Joch (2,757 m). Once there, you can make a short stop at the Alpengasthof Tibet Hut, where you will be spoilt with typical South Tyrolean and Veltlin cuisine in the panorama restau- rant. After a break, it’s time to conquer the 48 hairpin bends and enjoy the magnificent view of the Ortles/Ortler (3,899 m). Continue to Prato/Prad and Spondigna/Spondinig. Corzes Pass/Kortsch, Silandro/Schlanders, Laces/Latsch, and Castelbello/Kastelbell. You should not miss a visit to Juval Castle (Messner Mountain Museum) near Naturno/Naturns. After this historical stop, the tour continues to Rablà/Rabland, Lana, and back to the Hotel Tirolensis in Tesimo/Tisens.

TOUR TIP: Brenta Dolomites Nature Park (approx. 400 km)

Enjoy nature and experience an adventure with your motorcycle, convertible, or vintage car? Everything is possible here in beautiful South Tyrol during your holiday in the Merano/Meran region! From the Hotel Tirolensis in Tesimo/Tisens, drive to Appiano/Eppan and along the well-known Mendola/Mendel Pass with its 1,363 metres of altitude difference. The Mendola/Mendel Pass road is passable all year round and is a popular challenge for touring cyclists due to its 17 steep hairpin bends and many vantage points. The tour then takes you to Romeno, Segno, Cavedago, and on to Molveno Lake. Here on the Pradel plateau, you will find numerous possibilities to enjoy nature in all its glory and to relax. After this pleasant break, you can continue to San Lorenzo in Banale, Ragoli, and Tione di Trento. Enjoy the fantastic view of the Brenta Dolomites Nature Park with its ancient woods, green meadows, crystal-clear lakes, flowing mountain streams, and impressive waterfalls. After stopping for some photos, the tour will take you to Madonna di Campiglio, 1,500 metres above sea level, in the middle of a beautiful valley between the Brenta and the Adamello glacier. Over the Campo Carlo Magno Pass (1,682 m), head north to Folgarida, Malé, and the large Santa Giustina Lake, which formerly had the highest dam wall in Europe after its completion in 1951. From there, return to the Hotel Tirolensis. Drive to Lauregno and over the 363-metre-high Mendola/Mendel Pass to Ap- piano/Eppan and Terlano/Terlan to Tesimo/Tisens, where your holiday in the Merano/Meran region continues.
