IX CICLO DE CINEMA DA FILOSOFIA – UFPEL A FILOSOFIA E O CINEMA BRASILEIRO O filósofo francês August Comte afirmou, em 1851, que a “fórmula sagrada dos positivistas” era “O Amor por princípio, a Ordem por base, e o Progresso por fim”, fórmula profanada mais tarde na inscrição da bandeira brasileira, que traz apenas as palavras “Ordem e Progresso”. Se na política em nosso país o amor foi posto de lado, o mesmo não se pode dizer em relação à sétima arte. Registros indicam a aparição dos primeiros filmes brasileiros já em 1897, menos de dois anos depois da primeira exibição de um filme realizada pelos irmãos Lumière na França. Entretanto, a arte cinematográfica brasileira, apesar do reconhecimento obtido por meio de diversos prêmios em festivais e mostras internacionais, permanece pouco conhecida entre nós. Ao abordar parte da filmografia nacional produzida desde a década de 1930, o nono Ciclo de Cinema do Departamento de Filosofia da UFPEL busca dar a conhecer em nossa sociedade aquilo que ela desconhece: as obras de referência em nossa cinematografia e, por meio delas, debater temas de suma importância para uma melhor compreensão do povo brasileiro. Lo guarda dipingere, lo ascolta, parla con lui. Il rito del caffè ritorna costante, simbolo del loro legame forte. I due viaggiano, ridono, conversano; felici e complici. Elena segue Giuseppe anche nel suo impegno di giornalista; è orgogliosa della sua penna schietta e coraggiosa, è serena, innamorata del padre. Sullo sfondo, la Catania difficile di fine anni ‘70. Nel 1982 Giuseppe è licenziato dal Giornale del Sud e si profila la nuova avventura della rivista “I Siciliani”. L’articolo di Giuseppe apparso nel primo numero della rivista, parla della mafia, della sua storia, della sua struttura e di quelli che Fava definisce “I quattro cavalieri dell’apocalisse della mafia”: imprenditori senza scrupoli che fanno affari con boss, banchieri, politici concussi. Nel 1983 Giuseppe rilascia una clamorosa intervista ad Enzo Biagi, apparsa in TV; in quell’occasione tra le altre cose dice “...i mafiosi stanno in Parlamento, sono a volte ministri, sono banchieri, sono quelli che in questo momento stanno ai vertici della nazione...”. -
