The OWLAG (Oprah Winfrey Blast from the past P11 Leadership Academy for Girls) Marimba Band had the crowd moving to their rhythm and beat. The beautiful voice of Mel moved smoothly throughout the crowd. Jodi's performance was delightful and On the lighter side P11 Andre kept the crowd entertained with his one man band. Alan gave us a fantastic performance! Canoeing news P12 The Six-a-Side Cricket was played all day with the mayor in the Villagers' team. The dogs' tails were wagging and they were very stylish. The dog show was an eye opener for all of us who have some not so well behaved pups. The OWLAG Dance Company proved they were all they'd been made out to be: (Continued on Page 2)

Councillor’s Corner Dear Residents, In response to the increasing complaints about unauthorised buildings, land uses, activities, advertising, trading etc. Midvaal Council has created a Law Enforcement Unit within the Development and Planning Department. This new team will have the authority to issue contravention notices on the spot, to pro- actively combat illegalities and to minimise opposed matters in court by thorough investigation. Despite being a much-maligned department the table on right shows just what Development and Planning does for one ward alone. The information is correct to 20 April 2017. At a recent public meeting held in at the AOG conference centre the subject of illegal persons residing in Henley was brought up. The facts are that if the residents did not supply illegal immigrants Do you have a problem or an issue with jobs and housing they would not be here. They came from Three Rivers where she had a restaurant, the Waterfront. Previous to that she had a catering company in Jo'burg. Her initial training was a Cordon Bleu course but she has been self-training ever since. While she was catering for the Frail Care at the HRV she researched the dietary requirements of the aged and now can cope with any special requirements such as for diabetics and allergies. Her company, dine with debbie, started informally when she started cooking for her daughter's school friends and families, These parents were working long hours and would collect their children from Debbie's together with dinner in the evenings. There are some families in the village who have been eating her meals daily for 9 years. When they were new in Henley she ran the tuck shop at HHPS. She has also run the restaurant at the Bowler and done the Frail Care at HRV. Debbie tries, wherever possible, to use home grown or locally found produce and cooks using only olive oil, coconut oil and butter, following the guide lines of the Banting and Paleo lifestyles. She does low carb or normal carb meals. She prepares evening meals Mondays to Fridays which can be collected between 5 and 6pm or they can be delivered at a minimal charge. She has an Order-to-freeze option. Customers can order their meals in advance. They are frozen so that the customer can collect and transfer to his own freezer and enjoy when it suits him. She also makes a selection of snack platters or finger food for easy entertaining. See her advert below for more details
