The Hockey Hall of Famer and former Sabres defenseman is the seventh alumnus to serve as the team’s head coach.

Housley joined the Sabres after helping to guide the Nashville Predators to their first ever Stanley Cup Final appearance in 2016. Named an assistant coach on May 22, 2013, Housley was a driving force behind one of the NHL’s best defensive groups throughout his tenure.

Blashill has accumulated six seasons with the organization, spending the 2011-12 seasonas an assistant coach for Detroit before serving as head coach of the AHL's Grand Rapids Griffins from 2012-15.
