Petal Sports Association 8U-12U Softball End of Season Tournament April 19, 2021

Rules: All USSSA. Rulebook and PSA local league rules apply (Except for changes below.)

1. Pool Play (April 26th and 27th) will be timed 2 game. Games can end in a Tie (no extra inning allowed.) Run Rule: 15 after 3 or 10 after 4. Home team is noted on your schedule (Seeding W/L, Head to Head, RA then RS). If we have bad weather, we will go to 1 Pool Play game. If a team must play 2 games, only their first one will count. If no pool play games can be played, we will go to a blind draw to seed the bracket.

2. Bracket Play (April 29th and 30th) will be timed to include championship game. (No Ties) Once time has expired and game is tied, we will go to an international rule, which is, Runner on 2nd (last batted out) with 1 out. This will continue until there is a winner. (No sudden death) Run Rule: 15 after 3 or 10 after 4. Home team will always be the higher seed. Brackets are posted online under documents and will be updated with teams once pool play is complete.

3. Softballs: Pool Play and Bracket Play home team will provide softballs.

4. Players needed to play: If you are rostered 11 players or more, you must have 9 players to start the game and 8 to finish. If you are rostered 10 players or less, you must have 8 players to start the game and 7 to finish. Player ejection: If a player is ejected, you will take an out every time that player would have come to bat for that game. (This is the only time you will ever take an out.) It is important to let us know if you have lost players so we can remove them from your online roster.

Notes:

1. Thursday April 29th and Friday April 30th will be bracket play for 8u-12U will be at the Optimist Softball Field (2 gates will be open.) This will be the only days there will be a $5 gate fee (6 yr. olds and below are free.) Any PSA Spring Baseball or Softball player is free, even if they are not playing that day. Coaches 6-8 Yr. olds are allowed 4 coaches free and 9-12 yr. olds are allowed 3 coaches free. Each team will be allowed to sign in 1 scorekeeper/bookkeeper for free (these people MUST perform scorekeeping /bookkeeping jobs in the press box/score table). Coaches and Scorekeepers must sign in at the Main Gate!!! Wristbands must be worn. No outside coolers or food. (1 team cooler is allowed but must be brought in by the Head Coach.)

2. We will be giving you awards (participation medals for 8U and 1 Sportsmanship award per team for all age groups) to give out (please return any extras.) PSA rings will be given out for each age group’s champion and runner up from bracket play.

3. We will need help from each age group’s commissioner to be there during the day and to help with their age group’s awards ceremony for 1st and 2nd place.

4. Equipment Turn In: (Please clean it up) It can be returned to the office once the season is complete.

5. If you personally know your sponsor, please try, and invite them to pool play and bracket games.
