Responsibilities: Responsible for everything the squad does or fails to do Is the tactical leader and leads by example Maneuvers the squad and controls the rate and distribution of its fire Trains the squad members in their individual and collective tasks Staff Sergeant Manages the squads needs, requesting and issuing ammo, E-6 water, rations, and equipment 6-8 years of experience Keeps track of the squad’s weapons, clothing, and equipment and directs their maintenance The University of Akron The 42nd Ohio Volunteer Battalion
