RUBEN HEIN

Hein studied Piano at the Conservatorium of Amsterdam. In 2007 he won the 2nd price at the prestigious Dutch Jazz Vocalist Concours. After joining Pete Philly and Perquisite and Hans Teeuwen’s band as a pianist, he released his debut album as a vocalist - ’Loose Fit’ - at the famous Blue Note label in 2010.

FLAMENCO BIENNALE @CONSERVATORIUM VAN AMSTERDAM

The Netherlands will welcome some of Flamenco’s biggest stars during this two week festival. Bassist Pablo Martín and cajón-player Antonio Coronel will be giving workshops for our students. Born in the USA, Deborah Carter grew up in Haiti and Japan. She travels ex- tensively performing at jazz festivals, jazz clubs, seminars, and radio and TV shows through Europe and Asia. Carter will work 4 days with the students of our vocal department.

Guillermo Klein is an Argentine pianist and composer known for his highly original harmonic and stylistic concepts. He is currently on tour with this all star quartet, featuring Aaron Goldberg on piano, Chris Cheek on tenor saxo- phone and Miguel Zenon on alto saxophone.

WILLEM FRIEDE

The Dutch composer and arranger Willem Friede has worked ao with the Metropole Orchestra, , Paul Weller, Chaka Khan, and Elvis Costello. He is the pianist and musical director of the New Cool Col- lective Big Band with whom he received an Edison (Dutch "Grammy") for the album "BIG".
