COMPETITION GENERAL INFORMATION

DATE & PLACE The first Mediterranean Wushu Championships will take place between March 16 and 20, 2017 in Antalya, Turkey. QUALIFICATIONS Those eligible to participate are National Mediterranean Teams from IWUF member countries that are members of the International Committee of Mediterranean Games:  Africa (Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Morocco and Tunisia);  Asia (Lebanon and Syria);  Europe (Albania, Andorra, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Cyprus, France, Greece, Italy, Kosovo, Macedonia, Malta, Monaco, Montenegro, San Marino, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain and Turkey). The Working Group of Mediterranean Wushu has invited the following National Teams: Bulgaria and Portugal. Each participating country may at most submit one (1) team.

Each participating country’s team is limited to a total of (32) people, which comprises of the following:  One (1) team leader;  Two (2) coaches (one Taolu coach; and one sanda coach only)  One (1) doctor;  Two (2) judges (one Taolu judge; and one sanda judge only)  Twelve (12) Taolu athletes (six female athletes and six male athletes, who were born between January 1, 1982 – December 31, 1998; maximum one athlete per medaling Taolu event);  Fourteen (14) Sanda athletes (five female athletes and nine male athletes, who were born between January 1, 1982 – December 31, 1998; maximum one athlete per medaling Sanda event); Each Taolu competitor should bring along with them a valid health certificate (including electrocardiogram – ECG, pulse and blood pressure) issued within 30 days prior to the beginning of the competition signed by a qualified doctor and a Life Accidental Injury Insurance Certificate. All competitors are required to submit a completed and signed waiver of liabilities form. Each Sanda competitor should bring along with them a valid health certificate (including electroencephalogram – EEG, electrocardiogram – ECG, pulse and blood pressure) issued within 30 days prior to the beginning of the competition signed by a qualified doctor and a Life Accidental Injury Insurance Certificate. All competitors are required to submit a completed and signed waiver of liabilities form. ENTRIES All final entries must reach the organizing committee and the IWUF Secretariat no later than 24:00 (Further‐eastern European Time – FET) March 6, 2017. These must be sent by email to the below addresses: Turkish Wushu Federation: [email protected] IWUF Secretariat: [email protected] ARRIVAL AND REGISTRATION All participating teams are required to arrive at the designated registration booth and register with the Organizing Committee on March 16, 2017. Arrival after March 16, 2017 may result in disqualification of the participant in question. Any entry not duly confirmed at the Technical Meeting, will not be taken into consideration except for force majeure. All Technical Officials are required to arrive at the designated registration booth and register with the Organizing Committee on March 16, 2017. Arrival after March 16, 2017 may result in disqualification of the technical official in question. TECHNICAL MEETING The Technical Meeting for team leader and coaches will take place at the WOW Kremlin Palace at 10:00 (Antalya time) on March 17, 2017 during which all matters related to the competition will be announced. DRAWING – LOTS CEREMONY The drawing – lots will be conducted following the Technical Meeting on March 17, 2017. WEIGHING – IN The weighing – in for Sanda athletes will take place at 07:00 (Antalya time) on March 17,

2017. PLACING AND AWARDS  Taolu o 1st place Gold Medal and Certificate; o 2nd place Silver Medal and Certificate; o 3rd place Bronze Medal and Certificate; o 4th – 6th place Certificate.  Sanda o 1st place Gold Medal and Certificate; o 2nd place Silver Medal and Certificate; o 3rd place (juxtaposition) Bronze Medal and Certificate; o 5th place (juxtaposition) Certificate.

FINANCIAL CONDITIONS The international airfare and related travel expenses, as well as accommodation/participation fees of all participants (athletes, judges and team officials) shall be borne by the teams themselves. The Turkish Wushu Federation will send details of this, including payment methods and deadlines. DOPING CONTROL Doping control will be conducted during the I Mediterranean Wushu Championships according to the requirements of the International Wushu Federation and the World Anti – Doping Agency. TAOLU COMPETITION METHODS Competition includes individual competition only. Unless otherwise stated within these regulations, the competition will be conducted in accordance with the 2005 edition of the “IWUF Rules for International Wushu Taolu Competition” and utilize the Non‐ Degree of Difficulty Scoring Method (comprising of A Group – Quality of Movements Scoring & B Group – Overall Performance Scoring only). All routines are permitted as long as they conform to the compulsory technique content and time requirements of each event. With that, athletes may include degree of difficulty techniques or not. Time Limits:  For Baguazhang, Xinyiquan, Changquan, Daoshu, Gunshu, Jianshu, Qiangshu, Nanquan, Nangun & Nandao, each routine’s duration shall be no less than one minute and twenty seconds (1min 20s);  For Taijiquan and Taijijian, each routine’s duration shall be between three (3) to four (4) minutes. The power of interpretation of the Rules rests solely with the IWUF. TAOLU COSTUMES AND EQUIPMENT Competitors shall wear wushu competition costumes in compliance with the rules during all events. This must be brought & prepared by the competitors themselves. All weaponry must conform to the requirements as stipulated in the rules. This must be provided by the competitors themselves. SANDA COMPETITION METHODS The competition will be individual competition.

The single knockout system will be adopted. Following arrival and registration, the athletes will go through the initial weighing in and drawing lots formalities as stipulated in the schedule. Unless otherwise stated within these regulations, the competition will be conducted in accordance with the 2005 edition the “IWUF Rules for International Wushu Sanda Competition”. The duration of each round shall be 2 (two) minutes with a 1 (one) minute rest interval between rounds. The power of interpretation of the Rules rests solely with the IWUF. SANDA COSTUMES AND EQUIPMENT Competitors shall wear costumes and protective gear in compliance with the “Rules for International Sanda Competition” to participate in the competition. Each competitor is required to possess two (2) sets of competition costumes: one set in blue and one set in red. Each competitor is required to possess his or her own mouth guard, jockstrap, and instep guard. The Organizing Committee will provide gloves and other protective equipment. FINANCIAL CONDITIONS All Participants (Athletes, Team Officials, Judges and Observers) The international airfare and related travel expenses, as well as accommodation/participation fees of all participants shall be borne by the teams themselves. The accommodation/participation fees are as follows:  USD 90,00 per person per day (standard single room)  USD 70,00 per person per day (standard double room) The above fees include meals, accommodation and pick‐up/drop‐off to and from the airport. The participating teams shall pay their outstanding participation fee in full to the Organizing Committee of the 1st Mediterranean Wushu Championships upon arrival & registration. The Organizing Committee will arrange the accommodation and transportation for participating teams from 9:00 March 16th, 2017 to 24:00 March 20th, 2016 (Antalya Time). If any teams arriving earlier or departing later than the required date, they should inform the Organizing Committee to arrange their accommodation arrangements. Payment Methods Participating teams are requested to pay the relevant participation fees by international bank transfer simultaneously with their final entry submission. Proof of which should be sent to the organizing committee by email and brought along to Antalya by the team leader. Teams that are unable to pay by international bank transfer must pay their relevant participation fees in total to the organizing committee upon arrival in Turkey.
