On the night, WIJ Chair Eleanor Mills introduced our host Amber Rudd MP, who highlighted the importance of events that celebrate and bring together women from the worlds of journalism, politics and industry. Amber also made a point of saying how brilliant it was to have female MPs from across parties in one room, enjoying the evening, saying that they should all do more, politics aside, to support each other in parliament. She went on to speak about the importance of the language used by the press when reporting on politics, highlighting how the use of incendiary language was both dangerous and damaging.
