ThyssenKrupp AG, based in the German city of , is a technology and steel group with international operations and a presence in 80 countries worldwide. More than 60 percent of its 180,000 employees work outside . In financial year 2011 they generated sales of EUR 49.1 billion. The company has issued 514.5 million shares with 74.67 percent in free float and the remaining 25.33 percent being held by the Alfried von Bohlen und Halbach Foundation (AKBH Foundation). Since the launch of the DAX index the share has been constantly listed in the most important German equity index. It reached its all-time high on 19 May 2008 at EUR 46.63; its lowest point was on 4 January 1988 when it fell to EUR 5.07. The share’s largest one-day increase was on 19 September 2008 when it rose by 18.38 percent while its biggest loss of 20.38 percent occurred on 22 October 1987.
