Enabling construction works come to an end soon Enabling construction works (site preparation for main construction works) for the future Manukau Bus Station will come to end in early August. Since enabling works started in February this year, our contractors Fulton Hogan have completed the following work:

• Site clearance of the existing Manukau Civic oo Markers have been installed which Building car parking area (northern area) extend beyond the top of preload. These will be monitored over time • A new entrance for vehicles to allow to track the ground movement access from Manukau Station Road to the remaining car park area oo The main construction works for the Bus • Earthworks to reshape the existing ground profile Station will start later this year. New sand drains will be installed on the southern side • Removal of the existing stormwater system within of the site and the preload will be moved to the carpark and installation of new stormwater this area. Once the ground has settled the pipelines, connecting to the existing network preload will be removed from the site • Installation of a new sewer system oo During the preloading time the area will (not currently operational) remain fenced off and closed to the public. • Installation of the vertical sand drains, drainage blanket and preload through the middle of the site rainage blanket oo This work has been completed to accelerate ater reload ater drainage drainage settlement and to improve ground conditions for the future Manukau Bus Station oo Sand drains have been installed into the ground and covered in a drainage blanket.
