3/43 Installation (TICM)

ADAPT01307853 To enable custom graphics in dialog windows

Custom graphics (logos, other images) may not show in some dialog windows. To enable custom graphics, use the following steps:

For the built-in dialogs, such as the start installation and finish installation windows: 1. Use the Orca database editor to edit the setup program's .msi file. 2. Go to Binary table. 3. Edit the binary data column of top16 and side16, and point it to top.bmp and full.bmp respectively.

During a maintenance installation, custom graphics may not be shown. Ensure that the ProductCode key in the Windows registry points to the appropriate location. Use the Windows Registry Editor to verify that the TRANSFORMS entry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Product\ is correct. The setup program uses this key to find the source location of custom graphics in dialog windows.

ADAPT01345143 Upgrading from Data Direct ODBC 5.1 to Data Direct ODBC 5.3

When upgrading a Crystal Reports installation with Data Direct ODBC 5.1 to Data Direct ODBC 5.3, the upgrade may fail because of a licensing problem.

To resolve this issue, remove the Data Direct licensing file before upgrading to Data Direct ODBC 5.3:

1. Use Windows Explorer to open the system folder C:\Windows\System32. 2. Locate and delete the file IVCR.lic. 3. Run the Data direct 5.3 upgrade installation.

ADAPT01349294 Some universe objects not updated when migrating from BusinessObjects Enterprise R2

After upgrading from BusinessObjects Enterprise R2 to SAP BusinessObjects XI 3.1 SP3, all universe objects may not be updated from v11.5 to v12.

To update the objects manually: 1. Open Start->Programs->BusinessObjects XI 3.1->BusinessObjects Enterprise->Central Configuration Manager 2. Click the "Update Objects" button. You need to provide administrator credentials to the CMS. 3. When prompted with "This CMS has x objects that require updating", click "Update".

4/43 ADAPT01353748 Special instructions for installing lifecycle management (LCM) SP3 patch

There is a workaround to install the lifecycle management SP3 patch in the following scenario:: BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 + LCM V1 + BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 SP3.

Workaround: First install BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 + LCM V1 + BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 SP2 + LCM SP2 + BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 SP3, and then apply the lifecycle management SP3 patch.

ADAPT01357188 Enabling the Adaptive Processing Server after uninstalling the Service Pack 3 patch

After uninstalling the SP3 patch, you may find the Adaptive Processing Server is disabled and cannot be enabled.

To resolve this issue please follow the below steps: 1) Logon to Central Management Server. 2) Click on 'Servers' link. 3) Stop the 'Adaptive Processing Server.' 4) Right click on the 'Adaptive Processing Server' and select "Select Services" from the context menu. 5) Add "Extension Factory Service" to the "Available services" area. 4) Click "Ok." 5) Start Adaptive Processing Server and enable it.

ADAPT01366906 Internal server error after deploying dswsbobje.war to WebSphere 7

After deploying the dswsbobje.war web application to WebSphere 7, users may encounter an "internal server error" message when trying to access web services.

The following workaround has been provided by IBM, and must be applied for dswsbobje.war to function:

1) Deploy the dswsbobje.war web application to the WebSphere 7 server. Do not start the web application. 2) Change the WAR class loader policy to "parent last." In the app server console, go to Enterprise Application > dswsbobje_war > Manage Modules > dswsbobje.war, and set “Class loader order” to “Classes loaded with local class loader first (parent last)). 3) Save the changes. 4) Copy all files with a .mar ending (*.mar) in the dswsbobje.war WEB-INF/modules folder (/ profiles//installedApps//dswsbobje.war/WEB-INF/modules) to the dswsbobje.war WEB-INF/lib folder (/profiles//installedApps//dswsbobje.war/WEB- INF/lib). Important: do not delete or move the .mar files from the WEB-INF/modules folder. 5) Rename the files copied in step 4 so that they have a .jar file extension instead of a .mar extension. 6) Restart the server.

For more information, see the IBM support note found at: http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss? rs=180&context=SSEQTP&q1=axis2&uid=swg21315686&loc=en_US&cs=utf-8&lang=en.

5/43 ADAPT01378002 In lifecycle management, installation proceeds even without CMS name and port details

While installing lifecycle management, installation proceeds even if the CMS name and port number fields are left blank in the CMS Logon Information Install screen. This is because the installer automatically assigns the old default CMS name and port details.

ADAPT01381272 Dashboards and Analytics error after installing Service Pack 3

After installing Service Pack 3 on a system where the Software Intelligence Agent (SIA) node has been removed, selecting the "Dashboards" link within InfoView may cause the following message to appear: "There is no AA Analytics Server available. Contact your Business Objects administrator to verify server status. AA2213".

To resolve this issue on Windows systems, update the configuration file \Dashboard and Analytics 12.0\InitConfig.properties so that the variable "initialization.CMSName=:" has the correct CMS port number (where is the CMS port number). Then use the Windows Registry Editor to update the following registry keys: - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 12.0\Installer\CADNODE (set to SIA name) - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 12.0\Installer\CADPORT (set to SIA port number).

To resolve this issue on Unix or Linux systems, update the configuration file / Dashboard_Analytics_120/InitConfig.properties so that the following variables match the values found in /bobje/ccm.config: - CMSPORTNUMBER - SIAPORTNUMBER - SIANODENAME

ADAPT01383909 In Web Intelligence Rich Client, Import from CMS, Export to CMS, and Show BI Services options are grayed out

When you create a Universe-based report in Web Intelligence Rich Client, the options "Import from CMS", "Export to CMS", and "Show BI Services" options are grayed out. To resolve this problem, you must grant the necessary rights for the Web Intelligence users in Central Management Console.

6/43 ADAPT01384239 Run repair install after uninstalling either Crystal Reports Designer or Crystal Reports Runtime

If you have both Crystal Reports 2008 SP1 Designer and Crystal Reports 2008 SP3 Runtime installed on your machine, and you uninstall one of the products, the other product will stop working. To resolve the problem, run a repair installation on the remaining product.

ADAPT01396869 Universe Builder and Query as a Web Service fail to launch when only .Net Framework 4.0 is present

When installing BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 SP3 / BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 SP3 Client Tools on a machine where only Net Framework 4.0 is present, after installation, Universe Builder and Query as a Web Service fail to launch.

Workaround: Install .Net Framework 2.0 to fix the issue.

ADAPT01412706 In Integration version for SAP solutions, personalization transport import error in SAP BW

When importing personalization transport files into SAP BW, an error may occur that shows two tables can not be activated.

Workaround: Check if the data element /CRYSTAL/RSZVNAM exists. If not, create / activate the element.

Note: Refer to the definition of data element /CRYSTAL/RSZPVNAM, which is available after imported MDX transport. These two data elements have exactly same definition except for the description.

8/43 Security

ADAPT01113249 Desktop Intelligence user can imitate another user in some installations

In .NET InfoView (with Internet Information Service application server), a Desktop Intelligence user can copy the temporary cache file zabo_fc from another installation and imitate another user.

To prevent this, enable the ZaboTimeout feature in the global.asa file. ZaboTimeout is the number of seconds after which the zabo_fc file is no longer usable in a client installation.

To enable the feature:

1. Edit the file /BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0/Web Content/InfoViewApp/ AnalyticalReporting/WSTKBridgeAdapter/global.asa

2. Add the following lines. Replace

9/43 ADAPT01483232 SAP BusinessObjects Dashboard Builder Analytics in XI 3.1 cannot be displayed in when running in SSL (HTTPS)

When a user attempts to run SAP BusinessObjects Dashboard Builder Analytics in Secure Socket Layer (SSL) environment using Internet Explorer (IE) in some servers, for example Tomcat, SAP BusinessObjects Dashboard Builder Analytics fails to be displayed.

This problem occurs because by default HTTPS response headers use the “no-cache” setting, which is one of the settings that cause Internet Explorer to fail.

To workaround this problem, you need to configure the server to use a setting other than the default settings. For example, in case of Tomcat server, you can configure the PerformanceManagement.xml file located under “Tomcat55\conf\Catalina\localhost”, by adding a certain value to the context.

You can also choose any one of the following suggestions to resolve this issue:

1.

This option works but reduces security, as it does not allow no- cache control headers to be issued.

2.

This configuration causes a header to be issued in place of the default and headers. This suggests shared caches not to cache the response, while still allowing downloads to work in IE.

3.

10/43 Enterprise Deployment (TICM)

ADAPT01190939 SAP Integration: Deploying SAP web applications to Netweaver 7.1

When a user tries to deploy SAP web applications to SAP Netweaver7.1, they may find that SAP.war does not deploy successfully using either wdeploy or the deploy script supplied by SAP Netweaver7.1. To resolve this issue, use the following steps: Note: The following procedure requires that you have Win RAR installed. 1. Go to \Business Objects Enterprise 12.0\java\applications. 2. Backup your SAP.war file. 3. Open SAP.war with Win RAR. 4. Navigate to the WEB-INF folder within Win RAR. 5. Copy the web.xml file to your desktop. 6. Open web.xml in a text editor (Notepad for example). 7. Search for '$' character and delete it 8. Save the file. 9. Copy the web.xml you edited back into Win RAR’s explorer. A dialog will open asking if you wish to replace the existing Web.xml file. 10. Click OK. 11. Save the SAP.war file and close Win RAR. Users can now deploy the SAP.war file using wdeploy or the deploy script supplied by SAP Netweaver 7.1.

ADAPT01232325 Xcelsius 2008 uses BusinessOjects Enterprise XI Release 2 SDK to connect to BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.0 system

To connect to the BusinessOjects Enterprise XI 3.0 Central Management Server (CMS) enabled with SSL from Xcelsius, you need to manually set the registry entry with sslconfig.exe for suite 11.5 by copying the settings that appear in the XI 3.0 sslconfig set up from the following directory: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE \Business Objects\Suite 12.0\CER To : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 11.5\CER

ADAPT01241754 Dashboard Manager support on IIS service

Dashboard Manager is not supported on Mircosoft Internet Information Service (IIS) version 6.0 as a web server using .NET technology.

When you install SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise (SAP BOE) XI 3.1 using Microsoft IIS version 6.0 as the Web application server, and deploy Central Management Console (CMC) on WACS, SAP BOE does not display the Dashboard in InfoView.

This is a known issue in SAP BusinessObjects XI3.1 SP3 release.

11/43 ADAPT01363139 .NET InfoView URL and WCF

On machines that have Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) enabled, .NET InfoView URLs may not point to the correct location. Before installing SAP BusinessObjects XI 3.1 SP3, ensure WCF is disabled.

If you have already installed SAP BusinessObjects XI 3.1 SP3 with WCF enabled, use one of the following URLs to access .NET InfoView:

http:///InfoViewApp/logon.aspx (where is the name of your web server) http://localhost/InfoViewApp/logon.aspx

12/43 Performance

ADAPT01175433 "Error in Publishing Cache" error

When users attempt to view events in the Event Viewer, the following error message might appear: "Error in Publishing Cache". To resolve this issue, add in the http modules of web.config file for all the applications.

ADAPT01299149 In Web Intelligence, document caching fails to work

When Web Intelligence is upgraded to SP3, document caching fails to work. This is because the Web Intelligence server property "Document Cache Cleanup Interval (seconds)" is incorrect as the unit must be in minutes and not seconds.

ADAPT01318812 Adjusting Voyager performance

You can adjust performance by modifying two registry settings: one to enable the Microsoft Analysis Services connection property named Cache Ratio, and the other to disable prefetch facts. Ensure that the MSAS2005 client is installed with Service Pack 2, and then modify the settings as follows:

HKLM\Software\Business Objects\Suite 12.0\MDA\ODBO\MSOLAP Value name : CacheRatio Value type : DWORD value: 100

HKLM\Software\Business Objects\Suite 12.0\MDA\ODBO\MSOLAP Value name : DisablePrefetchFacts Value type : DWORD value : 1

Note: If a registry key is set without the Microsoft Analysis Services 2005 client and proper Service Pack being installed, you may experience issues working in Voyager.

See SAP Note 1420454, which also describes this issue.

13/43 Functional Correctness

ADAPT01077727 Adding new nodes without servers

If you create a node without creating the default servers or a Central Management Server (CMS) at the time of the node creation, and then later add a CMS to the node using the Central Management Console (CMC), the CMS will not start. To work around this problem, do the following:

WINDOWS: 1. Open the Central Configuration Manager (CCM) and stop the SIA associated with the CMS you added. 2. Click "Specify CMS Data Source.” 3. Click "Update Data Source Settings." 4. Enter the CMS database connection information. 5. Click OK. 6. Start the SIA. 7. Open the CMC. 8. Start the newly added CMS.

In SAP BusinessObjects XI3.1 SP3, the cut and copy functions are removed for the personal dashboards. Hence, you cannot copy a personal dashboard from one folder to another folder. However, this copy functionality is applicable for personal dashboards created in the SAP BusinessObjects XI3.1 SP2 release.

ADAPT01228936 Web session timeout on NetWeaver 7.1 does not prompt for user login

When a web application session expires on a NetWeaver 7.1 web application server, the server may not prompt the user to re-authenticate and start a new session.

To resolve this issue, update the WEB-INF/web.xml file in Central Management Console web application archive, CmcApp.war. Uncomment filters NWWebSessionTimeoutFilter and NWWebSessionTimeoutFilter. Repackage and redeploy CmcApp.war.

ADAPT01240878 Mapped drive is not recognized by the Central Management Server

In InfoView, when users attempt to refresh Desktop Intelligence reports that are created by using personal data file excel as a datasource stored in a mapped drive, an error appears. To workaround this issue, users are recommended to use the UNC path.

19/43 ADAPT01248300 Interactive Analysis: Optional tags limitation for pre-defined filters

You cannot use Optional tags for pre-defined filters in Interactive Analysis. If you use an Optional tag, it will be treated as a mandatory part of the query, preventing the query from running.

ADAPT01254545 Naming dashboards

In SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1, two dashboards cannot share the same name even if they are stored in different folders. If you are importing a dashboard from an XI Release 2 system that shares a name with a dashboard in the current system, you must rename it.

Also, the copy function has been removed from the CMCApp for corporate dashboards. Hence, you cannot copy a corporate dashboard from one folder to another folder.

ADAPT01257891 Universe Designer SDK: cannot get OLAP universe generation options

OLAP Options for universe generation are not exposed in the SDK for read functions (GetOLAPGenerationOptions).

Only write (SetOLAPGenerationOptions) functions are available.

ADAPT01262712 New HTTP header size attribute for WACS servers

Any Web Application Container Servers (WACS) created after upgrading to Service Pack 3 will have a new property called "Maximum HTTP Header Size (bytes)" available in the Central Management Console. The default is set to 32768 bytes. This property is available for the following configurations:

-HTTP -HTTPS -HTTP through Proxy

20/43 ADAPT01263166 CrystalReportViewer.dispose() Java SDK method does not release the associated print or report job

If you call the com.crystaldecisions.report.web.viewer.CrystalReportViewer.dispose() method from the Crystal Reports Viewers Java SDK in your application directly, the associated print or report job is not released by the Report Application Server (RAS). Your web application may reach the maximum report processing jobs limit configured by your system administrator for the RAS server as a result. This additionally impacts the report parts viewer(com.crystaldecisions.report.web.viewer.CrystalReportPartsViewer) which also inherits the dispose () method from the com.crystaldecisions.report.web.viewer.ReportServerControl class.

To resolve the issue, modify the "crystal_dispose_reportsource" key in your web.xml file:

Note: The resolution to the problem will disable AJAX functionality of the viewers. This prevents users from performing certain operations in the viewer such as zooming, and page navigation. You can then disable AJAX functionality in the viewer so users can perform these operations using non-AJAX means, however the Parameter Prompt dialog box is affected. If you don’t encounter issues with the maximum number of report processing jobs, and wish to preserve AJAX functionality in the viewers, do not make this change.

1. Open the web.xml file of your application for editing. 2. Set the "crystal_dispose_reportsource" key to true.

crystal_dispose_reportsource true

3. Set the "crystal_use_asynchronous_requests" key to false to disable AJAX functionality.

crystal_use_asynchronous_requests false

With the "crystal_use_asynchronous_requests" key set to false, a user can perform all the operations in the report except changing parameter values by prompting for the Parameter Prompt dialog box. Parameter values can be changed by the user through other means, such as the Interactive Parameter panel, or by functionality you provide through programmatic methods using the SDKs.

32/43 ADAPT01387532 Translation Manager: Prompts not updated in a translated Web Intelligence document when the translation is edited/removed at universe level

When translating Web Intelligence documents based on a universe containing prompts, Translation Manager allows you to translate the prompts. For performance purposes, the Web Intelligence document keeps a copy of the universe's prompts in cache.

To avoid inconsistencies between the translations saved in the universe and the translations saved in cache for the Web Intelligence document, it is recommended to translate only the prompts in the universe, and to not translate the ones that have been copied in the Web Intelligence document.

In case of inconsistencies, you may also use Translation Manager to remove the translations of the prompts copied in the Web Intelligence document.

This restriction exists since XI3.0.

When some caracteristic values have the same value (caption), but different key value it shows in Web Intelligence as a single row with #multivalue. In order to return as many rows has there are different key values, you have to change the dimension related to the caracteristic definition and based it on the key instead of the caption. Workaround: 1) For each object that uses the same caption, manually change the dimension MDX expression so that it points to the key (you can copy and paste the key MDX expression). 2) To get the caption in the report, use the name Detail rather than the main dimension in the report.

37/43 ADAPT01250124 Voyager: Using openDocument to share workspaces

There is a topic in the Voyager User's Guide titled "Using openDocument to share workspaces". The contents of that topic should read as follows:

In some types of SAP BusinessObjects documents, for example Crystal Reports and Web Intelligence documents, you can create hyperlinks to Voyager workspaces. Use the openDocument function to create these hyperlinks.

You can link to a workspace by specifying either the document identifier, using the iDocID parameter, or the document name and path, using the sDocName and sPath parameters. When using the iDocID parameter, you will need to locate the document ID number. You can find the document ID number in InfoView, by selecting a workspace in the Document List and selecting Actions > Properties from the menu.

sPath is used only with subfolders of the Public Folders folder. If your workspace is outside of the Public Folders folder, for example in the My Favorites folder, use the iDocID parameter instead of sPath and sDocName.

For more information about using openDocument URLs, see the guide Viewing Reports and Documents using URLs, included with BusinessObjects Enterprise.

URL syntax for openDocument http://:8080/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp? sType=amw&sIDType=InfoObject&iDocID=&sPath=&sDocName= Note: Replace with the name of the machine that houses the BusinessObjects Enterprise repository where the Voyager workspace is stored. Note: When using the iDocID parameter, replace with the document ID number of the workspace. Note: When using the sDocName parameter, replace with the name of the workspace in the repository. Note: When using the sPath parameter, replace with the path to the workspace in the repository. Enclose each subfolder name in brackets, and separate subfolder names with commas. Do not add [Public+Folders] to the path; start with the name of the first subfolder within Public Folders.

Public Folders folder 1 folder 1.1 folder 1.1.1 If your workspace were in folder 1.1.1, you would set sPath to: [folder+1],[folder+1.1],[folder+1.1.1]. Note: In both the and , replace any spaces with plus signs. Using iDocID http://olapserver1:8080/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp? sType=amw&sIDType=InfoObject&iDocID=1234 Using sPath and sDocName http://olapserver1:8080/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp? sType=amw&sIDType=InfoObject&sPath=[folder+1],[folder+1.1]&sDocName=my+workspace
