EARTH OBSERVATION SATELLITES For a weather-independent data source, high-frequency revisits, very-high-resolution imagery or even all of the above (and more) in a single system – Airbus can provide the right Earth observation satellite for every customer. Beyond these satellites, there is an unrivalled selection of add-ons to pick-and-choose from for an individual capability building programme. On the export market Airbus is no.1 and able as demonstrated with PerùSat-1 to deliver an Earth Observation system within 24 months that include also ground system and training.
TELECOMMUNICATIONS SATELLITES As the World‘s #1 for telecommunications satellites, Airbus provides his customers a maximum of flexibility and reliability. The company is continuously at the forefront of technological advancements such as electric propulsion or fully flexible payloads. All seven of the World’s largest telecommunication satellite operators have put their trust in Airbus, making the company the global market leader. The Airbus built EUTELSAT 172B is Europe's first all-electric satellite. With the contribution to OneWeb Airbus is part of this unique project that will connect people around the globe.

HUMAN SPACEFLIGHT Airbus is a global competence centre for all Human Spaceflight related activities, microgravity research facilities and robotic space applications. The great success of the Automated Transfer Vehicle (ATV) for the ISS as well as the experience with the European Columbus laboratory has qualified the company to become the first non-US company supplying a mission-critical element for a NASA Human Spaceflight mission: the European Service Module (ESM) of NASA's spaceship Orion. To complete the service range Airbus offers new ways of accessing low-earth orbit with new business models and applications.
SPACE EXPLORATION & SCIENCE For decades, Airbus has been at the very heart of Space exploration, allowing scientists to learn more about the universe we live in. SERVICES Airbus completes the Space value chain with a unique service segment: Using satellites built by Airbus, the Communication, Intelligence and Security (CIS) business line is a one-stop- shop for satellite and terrestrial communications systems, satellite imagery and derived geo- information including data management solutions, as well as intelligence and security solutions.
SPACE EQUIPMENT With a strong commitment to R&D and a worldwide reputation for maximum reliability Airbus is a global leader of high class Space equipment. There’s hardly anything in orbit that doesn’t contain at least one component made by Airbus.
GROUND SEGMENTS & OPERATIONS Airbus provides the full range of ground segment services, including set-up and installation, training, maintenance and consulting or even the complete operations of a satellite.
LAUNCHERS In its first four variants, our Ariane put half of the world’s commercial satellites into orbit. Ariane 5 meanwhile has achieved more than 80 consecutive successful launches – a record by a considerable margin. In the joint venture Airbus Safran Launchers, all the expertise and assets of two industry leaders in the fields of civil and military launch vehicles are bundled: An optimized development and production of the new Ariane 6 will secure Europe’s long- term access to Space as well as the commercial market position.
