4 Director’s Message

We welcome the academic community, corporate fraternity, partner b-schools, government institutions, our celebrated alumni, students, and well-wishers to Management Development Institute (MDI) Gurgaon.

Since its establishment in 1973, the Institute has ceaselessly built on its vision of creating the best management development ecosystem that is up-to-date with the cutting-edge industry trends and in sync with global best practices. Our drive towards the creation, dissemination, and application of knowledge is only surpassed by our efforts to enable the holistic development of our students, organizations, and society.

To achieve these objectives, we are engaged in result-oriented actions that comprise the four pillars of the MDI legacy: research, training, teaching, and consulting. In line with our mission, we have adopted an innovation-driven approach to bolstering these pillars by integrating advanced technologies into our teaching infrastructure.

As such, we have set up a state-of-the-art Bloomberg Finance Lab powered by 4 Bloomberg Terminals to better integrate industry-related data, research, and analytics into the various aspects of institutional learning. Furthermore, our pedagogy and curriculum are aligned to reflect as well as engage with the latest developments in the industry and academia.

On the back of these developments, we have proudly marched towards internationalization. As an esteemed global institute, MDI has been benchmarking its practices to reflect, assimilate, and ultimately set the global standards. Our indefatigable efforts, thus, find their realization in our internationally-acclaimed array of programmes as well as in our portfolio of achievements which include 65+ MoUs signed with various institutes and organizations of global repute.

The institute derives its strength from several tangibles and intangibles. We have a strong knowledge base, thanks to the presence of a highly-experienced faculty comprising industry experts and academic savants. Our students and alumni supply credibility to our claims of excellence. This is backed by a robust and constantly developing infrastructure that nurtures innovation and encourages research-driven innovation. Astride these strong drivers, we will continue to march – and lead the society – down the road of progress, driven by our focus on the continuous growth of people and our beloved institute.

Prof. (Dr.) Pawan Kumar Singh Director, MDI Gurgaon
