CDC provides route and school bus services in Sydney, the Hunter Valley and Queanbeyan in New South Wales, and in Melbourne, Geelong and Ballarat in Victoria. Cabcharge also holds a 49% interest in CityFleet UK, which provides account, booking and dispatch services for taxis and private hire vehicles in London, Birmingham. Liverpool, Edinburgh and Aberdeen and coach services in London. For further information on the Australian Taxi Industry and Cabcharge’s role and position in the Industry, please see pages 2 and 3. ELECTRONIC PAYMENTS SYSTEMS Cabcharge payments facilitate non-cash payments in taxis via electronic terminals. Cabcharge payments have been operating successfully for almost 40 years, and remain at the forefront of cashless payment technology through continuous improvement and innovation.     COMFORTDELGRO ACQUIRES THIRD LARGEST TAXI AND PRIVATE HIRE OPERATOR IN LIVERPOOL CITY REGION 10 March 2020 – ComfortDelGro Corporation is expanding its foothold in the United Kingdom (UK) through a £7 million (S$12.5 million) acquisition of the third largest taxi and private hire operator in the Liverpool City Region. The acquisition of Argyle Satellite Ltd and Argyle Satellite Contract Services Ltd (collectively known as AST) will be conducted through the Group’s wholly-owned subsidiary, CityFleet Networks Limited. AST, which manages more than 700 self-employed drivers on its circuit and handles about 200 active corporate accounts, will complement CityFleet’s existing 400-strong taxi operation in Liverpool. ComfortDelGro Managing Director/Group CEO, Mr Yang Ban Seng, explained: “This acquisition is line with our intention to grow our operations in the UK outside of London. It will expand, synergise and consolidate our position as the leading point-to-point passenger transport operator in Liverpool through an expansion of the customer base and driver pool.” AST currently operates across three licensing areas in Liverpool City Region – The Wirral, Liverpool and Cheshire West, as well as Chester. In addition to those existing licensing areas, AST also recently acquired a licence in the Sefton area which will facilitate growth in that borough and add to the overall fleet strength. In each of these areas, AST hold private hire licences and drivers can operate in any of the areas covered. Besides taxi and private hire operations in Liverpool, the Group operates a fleet of about 3,000 radio taxis in London and Aberdeen.

It also develops and supplies in-taxi equipment. Throughout its history, Cabcharge has had a strong community focus, especially in relation to assisting the Taxi Industry to improve services to those with mobility constraints. The Cabcharge payment system is still core to what we do and it processes all credit and debit chip and contactless cards, as well as those with magnetic stripe. This includes bank issued cards such as MasterCard and Visa and third party cards such as American Express and China UnionPay cards. We source and build the in-vehicle equipment which is world class with a particular focus on customer protection and ease of payment for drivers (which includes taxi integration, GPS, trip details capture and contactless processing capability). Our customer base spans accounts ranging from large corporations and government bodies to small businesses and individuals. In 2008, Cabcharge established EFT Solutions which develops payment system software for other clients, including major banks and retailers, as well as for the Cabcharge system.
