(Portfield Road, Sabden Road, Whalley, Whalley Road, Sabden, Ribble Valley Borough) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order 2019

LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (PORTFIELD ROAD, SABDEN ROAD, WHALLEY, WHALLEY ROAD, SABDEN, RIBBLE VALLEY BOROUGH) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2019

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council have made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.

1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over the following lengths of highway;

i. Portfield Road, Whalley from its junction with Portfield Lane to its junction with Sabden Road in the borough of Ribble Valley. ii. Sabden Road, Whalley from its junction with Portfield Lane to its junction with Whalley Road, Sabden in the borough of Ribble Valley. iii. Whalley Road, Sabden from its junction with Sabden Road, Whalley to its junction with Padiham Road, Sabden in the borough of Ribble Valley.

2. The prohibition will be operative daily from 0930 hours on Monday 4th February 2019 until 1500 hours on Tuesday 5th February 2019 or until completion of the works within this period.

3. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-

Portfield Road, Whalley – Portfield Lane – A671 Accrington Road – A671 Whalley Road – A671 Whalley Road, Read – A671 Whalley Road, Simonstone – School Lane – Trap Lane – Trapp Lane – Simonstone Road, Sabden – Padiham Road – Whalley Road, Sabden and vice versa.

The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow surface dressing patching works to be carried out.
