Then head to the Holmenkollen Ski Jump, which hosted events for the 1952 Winter Olympics. Take in 4,000 years of Nordic and downhill skiing history at the Ski Museum; and, from the observation deck on top, enjoy a spectacular vantage of Oslo and its fjord. Gather for a welcome dinner tonight. Overnight at the Grand Hotel Oslo. (D) DAY 2: Oslo Explore Norway’s cosmopolitan capital, situated at the head of a more than 60-mile-long fjord. Wander through Vigeland Park, filled with hundreds of life-sized human figures by native artist Gustav Vigeland. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before venturing to the Bygdøy Peninsula to see some of the world’s best-preserved Viking longships at the Viking Ship Museum. At the Kon-Tiki Museum, enjoy a specially arranged meeting with a family member or biographer of Thor Heyerdahl and learn about his family’s scientific seafaring adventures, chronicled in the pages of National Geographic magazine. Then view the famed Kon-Tiki raft, the papyrus boat Ra II, and other artifacts of seafaring history. Overnight at the Grand Hotel Oslo. (B,L) DAY 3: Flåm Catch a train to Myrdal, and then board the Flåm Railway, named by National Geographic Traveler as one of the top ten train journeys in Europe. Take an unforgettable ride along one of the steepest normal-gauge railroads in the world, descending a steep valley through 20 tunnels and past thundering waterfalls to the fjord village of Flåm. Settle into your hotel overlooking Aurlandsfjord, then visit a shoe factory in Aurland village—birthplace of the penny loafer. Switch up your perspective of Aurlandsfjord from the nearby Stegastein’s viewing platform, which floats 2,000 feet above the fjord. This evening, sample beers a local brewery before dinner. From here, take in spectacular views of Geirangerfjorden and look across the surrounding mountain peaks to spot the Blåbreen glacier. Upon arrival in Geiranger, settle into our hotel overlooking Geirangerfjorden. Overnight at the Hotel Union. (B,L,D) DAY 6: Geirangerfjorden/Trollstigen This morning, enjoy a special visit to the Norwegian Fjord Centre before it opens to the public. Peruse exhibits on the region’s natural and cultural history, learning how the dramatic fjord landscape was created and how people came to inhabit the extreme terrain. Then set out by ferry for an unforgettable cruise on the World Heritage-listed Geirangerfjorden, a ten-mile passage lined with sheer rock walls and punctuated with waterfalls. Disembark at Hellesylt for a drive along the famed Trollstigen—the Troll’s Footpath. Wind through the mountains along 11 hairpin turns, keeping an eye out for troll statues inspired by Norwegian fairytales. Overnight at the Hotel Union. (B,L,D) DAY 7: Rauma Railway/Trondheim Transfer to Andalsnes and board the Rauma Railway. Take in stunning scenery through panoramic windows on a journey past craggy alpine peaks, glacier-fed waterfalls, and the emerald waters of the Rauma River. Cross the historic Kylling Bridge and marvel at the 3,300-foot Trollveggen, Europe’s tallest vertical rock face. In Dombås, switch trains for the ride to Trondheim, where we’ll check in to our hotel and enjoy an evening at leisure. Overnight at the Britannia Hotel. (B,L) DAY 8: Trondheim Said to have been founded in the tenth century by Viking King Olaf I Tryggvason, Trondheim served as Norway’s capital until the early 1200s. Today, high-tech culture mingles with medieval architecture in this university town. On a city tour, visit the Nidaros Cathedral, a cherished landmark built on the gravesite of Norway’s patron saint and prized for its stained glass windows. Take a “secret tour” of the cathedral’s concealed chambers, hidden rooms, and medieval tombstones. Continue across the Nidelva River to Bakklandet, and enjoy lunch in this charming neighborhood of colorful wooden houses. Enjoy an afternoon at leisure, then gather for dinner at a local restaurant. Scien­ tists have been performing environmental assessments in the receiving waters from these production plants for more than twenty-five years, detecting high P AH con­ centrations in sediments and biota. Most of the assess­ ments have been limited to individual recipient bodies of water. No previous projects have evaluated the results from a holistic point of view, that is, as an integrated analysis within the same ecosystem compartment (for example, inter-fjord sediment to sediment comparison) or between different compartments (e.g. sediments to organisms within and between fjords). Over the past decade, changes in production processes, the installation of scrubbers etc. have drawn attention to the need for a broad-based evaluation of the ecological fate and effects of present and past P AH discharges. Accordingly, the main objective of this study has been to provide a comprehensive environmental risk assess­ ment of discharges to marine waters of P AHs generated by the production of primary aluminium and manganese alloys.

    Styret i 2019 har bestått av: Leder: Tor Erik Aarstad Nestleder: Mareno Nauste Kasserer: Bjørn Cameron Alexander Sekretær: Tone Kvamsås Styremedlem: Harry Hestad 1. vara: Ellen Undset 2. vara: Berit Torjuul Styret hadde i 2019 4 styremøter samt årsmøte 21. mars. Medlemstallet i 2019 var 117 medlemmer, som er en liten økning fra 2018. Av disse var 27 under 16 år. Vi er fremdeles langt unna tallene vi såg før vi måtte legge om til innmelding via minidrett da vi hadde nærmere 200 medlemmer. Det ble som vanlig arrangert klubbkveld i november med premiering av skitrimmen, fjelltrimmen og sykkeltrimmen. Vinner av Sucom trimmen ble og kunngjort her. Eresfjord IL var også i år med i «Prosjekt Tilhørighet» Vi hadde som vanlig 10 sesongkort fra MFK. Tross gratis utdeling til våre medlemmer, var det liten etterspørsel. Eresfjord IL har og ansvaret for vedlikeholdet av fotballbanen, her har banekomiteen lagt ned mange timer for å holde banen i god stand. Kom deg ut dagen 3/2-2019: Eresfjord og Vistdal skisenter. I samarbeid med Den Norske Turistforening og Vistdal IL arrangerte vi «kom deg ut dagen» i lysløypa Et vellykket arrangement med ca. 150 deltagere. Det var rebusløp, aking, skileik og grilling samt salg av kaker. Idrettslagene spanderte saft og kaffe. Innebandy: Fast spilling på søndager kl. 20.00 som vanlig.. det er mellom 6-12 spillere som møtes. Vi starter "sesongen" i august/ september etter skoleferien og holder på fram til slutten av juni. Startet på slutten av året med innebandy for jenter 8-12 år som et prøveprosjekt. Oppmøte er ca.

Styringsgruppa fikk også ansvaret for å lede arbeidet med gjennomføring av en ny felles satsing basert på et samarbeid Reiseliv-Handel-Kultur i Sunndal i 2017 og 2018. Møre og Romsdal fylkeskommune vil ta eit tydelegare ansvar for å bidra til ei positiv utvikling av Geiranger og verdsarvområdet, og vil delta inn i det vidare arbeidet med å få på plass «Forum Geiranger». 2. Møre og Romsdal fylkeskommune vil vurdere å definere Geiranger med omgivnader, delområde av verdsarvområdet Vestnorsk fjordlandskap, som eit omstillingsområde og søke støtte frå Kommunal- og moderniseringsdepartementet for eit omstillingsprosjekt. 3. Fylkeskommunedirektøren kjem tilbake med konkretisering av tiltak og kostnader i strategi- og rammesaka. Bakgrunn Geiranger er i ei særstilling. Geiranger har om lag 200 fastbuande, men har nær 1 million besøkande gjennom turistsesongen. Talet cruiseanløp i Geiranger i løpet av sesongen gjer Geiranger til Norges tredje største cruisedestinasjon. Dette gir store moglegheiter, men og store utfordringar for ei lita bygd. Reiselivsnæringa er livsgrunnlaget for dei fleste som bur og arbeider i bygda. Omgivnadene gir Geiranger ein særskild status… Geirangerfjorden med omgivnader blei i 2005, saman med Nærøyfjorden, innskrive på UNESCO si verdsarvliste. Av dei 8 norske døma på kultur- og naturarv som er skrive inn på lista er det berre «Vestnorsk fjordlandskap» som er skrive inn som eit døme på unik naturarv. Dette gjer Geiranger til ein attraktiv stad å besøke og er noko av det som i dag gjer Geiranger til eit såkalla reiselivsfyrtårn i Norge. …men også særskilde utfordringar Med opptil 16 000 besøkande på toppdagane på sommaren, så seier det seg sjølv at dette stiller betydelig større krav til kommunale tenester, beredskap og infrastruktur enn størrelsen på bygda tilseier.
