SUMMER CAMP 2018 – CATALUNYA- ANDORRA ART & NATURE

DATES: 27th June– 13th July, 2017

HOSTING CLUBS: IGUALADA, ANDORRA, VILAFRANCA DEL PENÈDES AND E-CLUB 2202

PARTICIPANTS: 12 participants. One boy or one girl from each country (non- smokers)

AGE: 18 – 22

LOCATION: IGUALADA, ANDORRA, VILAFRANCA P, MANRESA

ACCOMMODATION: Rotarian families

LANGUAGES: Good level of English

Candidates should arrive at Barcelona airport, on 27th June, 2018 DEPARTURE:

Departure from the Barcelona airport, on 13th July, 2018

OFFICIAL PAPERS: Tourist visa to Spain (where necessary)

COSTS: They should pay 475 € to attend the camp, as well as their return ticket to/from Barcelona, plus additional pocket money. The fees should be paid by a bank transfer, upon acceptance of the candidate.

INSURANCE: Participants should be insured against illness, accident, third party liability and repatriation.

0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0 o0 JUNE 27 (Wednesday) ARRIVAL AT IGUALADA  The Club will take care of collecting the participants at El Prat Airport and transfer them to the Tennis Club "Les Moreres", where they can use the swimming pool and bar/restaurant services. Dinner/reception at the Tennis Club and collection of the participants by the families.

JUNE 28 (Thursday) DAY AT THE BEACH IN SITGES  Visit to the old town and "Museu Mar i Cel". In the afternoon visit to Poblet Monastery.  Picnic lunch. Dinner at the headquarters of the Rotary Club Igualada.

JUNE 29 (Friday) DAY IN IGUALADA  Hiking in the morning. In the afternoon visit to an industrial company.  Free time in the old town of Igualada.  Dinner with families.

JUNE 30 (Saturday) DAY IN BARCELONA  Tourist route to modernist buildings.  Restaurant food. Free time and shopping in the center of Barcelona.  Show "Magic Fountains of Montjuic". Dinner (sandwiches and drinks).

O0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0 1 JULY (Sunday) TRANSFER FROM IGUALADA -> ANDORRA  Reception of the camp participants by the Rotary Club of Andorra  Visit to the center of Andorra

2 JULY (Monday) FIRST DAY IN ANDORRA  Shopping in the center of Andorra  Field trip to the mountain

3 JULY (Tuesday) CULTURAL VISIT IN ANDORRA  Visit to Andorran Romanesque churches and several museums to learn about the history and culture of the country.

4 JULY (Wednesday) DAY IN THE MOUNTAIN  Field trip to the mountains  Picnic in the mountains  Relax in the thermal center in the afternoon 

5 JULY (Thursday) TRANSFER FROM ANDORRA -VILAFRANCA P.  Arrival at the Vilafranca Tennis Club. Swimming pool, paddle, tenis, basketball, squash… Lunch at the Tennis Club.  At 8:30 p.m., pick up of the participants by the welcoming families and dinner at the Rotary Club headquarters.

6 JULY (Friday) DAY IN VILAFRANCA AND SURROUNDINGS  Bike ride through the vineyards of Penedès. Visit to Bodegas Torres and lunch in a cellar. In the afternoon, walk through the city, shopping and dinner with the families.

7 JULY (Saturday) DAY IN "PORT AVENTURA PARK"

Amusement park in Vila-seca.

8 JULY (Sunday) BEACH DAY IN VILANOVA I LA GELTRÚ  Vilanova i la Geltrú beach, swimming and food. Barbecue dinner and farewell with the families.

9 JULY (Monday) TRANSFER VILAFRANCA DEL PENEDES -> E-CLUB D 2202  Reception of the participants in the train station.  The families will accompany you to your residence to go next to the Aero club del Bages, where we will enjoy seafood and mountain food.  In the afternoon visit to the city of Manresa with families.

JULY 10 (Tuesday) MONTSERRAT MOUNTAIN DAY  Day dedicated to the Montserrat Mountain. Visit to the Monastery and excursion through some of the different paths and hermitages. We will have lunch on the mountain.  Dinner at the families' house, to go out for a drink at night.

11 JULY (Wednesday) DAY AT L'OLLER DEL MAS  Visit to the Castle of l'Oller del Mas with tasting of the wine and oil from the farm.  Activities to choose: paddle, beach volleyball, pitch & putt, swimming pool.  Lunch will be at the Golf Restaurant  Next we will accompany the participants to the houses to go out to dinner ( sandwiches) or to La Taverna del Pinxo.

12 JULY (Thursday) DAY AT CARDONA  Visit to the Museum of the salt mines of Cardona  Visit to Cardona Castle  Lunch will be celebrated at Cardona or Manresa, depending on the available time.  Return to the families’ homes to then go shopping.  At 9:00 pm we will celebrate the farewell dinner at Ramon Park Hotel at Santpedor.
