Pension Application for Isaac Hull S.13499 State of Hartford County SS. Farmington, July 24th 1832. On this 24th day of July 1832 personally appeared in open event before the Court of Probate for Farmington District in Hartford County now sitting—Isaac Hull a resident of sais Farmington in the County and State aforesaid aged 81 years, who being first duly sworn according to law, doth on his oath, make the following declaration in order to obtain he benefit of the act of Congress passed June 7th 1832. That he entered the service of the under the following named officers, and served as herein stated (viz) 1st On the 1st day of October 1777 being then a resident at the Nine Partners in Dutchess County State of New York, he was drafted for a term of one month and joined a company of which Waterhouse was and John Darrow was from the Nine Partners he marched to Fishkill, thence to New Windsor thence to Marbletown—thence to Esopus and saw it immediately after it was burnt by the British—thence returned to Fishkill and there discharged at the end of the term. 2nd On or about the first day of May 1779 he then being a resident at New Canaan in Columbia County, State of New York—enlisted into a company commanded by Capt. John Gray of the New York State Troops on the Continental establishment for the term of nine months and was attached to a regiment commanded by Col. McKinstry marched from New Canaan to Albany thence to Stillwater, thence to Saratoga and joined the regiment while attached to this regiment at Saratoga he was frequently detached on scouts to Fort Edward and Fort Miller—and continued in the service till the end of the term of nine months. In answer to the interrogatories propounded he says to the – 1st That he was born at Tillingworth in the State of Connecticut on the 24th day of December 1750. 2nd That he knows of no record of his age. 3d That he was living in Nine Partners when drafted in 1777 in New Cannaan [sic] New Canaan resided there about one year then removed to Salisbury Connecticut, resided there about one year—then removed to Sharon in Connecticut, resided there about two years—then removed to Farmington Con. where he has ever since resided. 4th already answered— 5th knows of no regular officers in service with him except those he has named, nor any other regiment that he recollects. 6th He never received an discharge in writing. 7th He is generally known in Farmington is acquainted with the Hon. Timothy Pitkin, Rev’d Noah Porter and many others. He also says that he has no documentary evidence of his service and knows of no person living whose testimony he can procure who can testify to his service. He hereby relinquishes every claim whatever to a pension or annuity except the present and declares that his name is not on the pension roll of the agency of any state. (Signed) Isaac Hull.
