TrenTino capTivaTes you “I have never made a secret of my particular liking for Trentino that dates back to the first time I set foot in the region at the no longer tender age of nine. Without doubt love at first sight. The natural beauty, the stunning mountains and the warm- heartedness of the Trentino people are so appealing that even now, when I have a few days free, I dash up there to relax and recharge my batteries. In Trentino you are spoilt for choice: characteristic agriturs, well-being centres, hospitable hotels, traditional restaurants and very many opportunities to enjoy top quality food and wine specialities, visits to monuments and truly unforgettable naturalistic panoramas. I have always thought of Trentino as an open air museum, in which each room offers the visitor its attractions. That’s what the valleys and towns of this wonderful region are like: each one with its own special features, history and traditions. A museum in which there is no risk of being bored, because as soon as you are in Trentino it captivates you.” Paolo Brosio 1 WINE AREA APPLE AREA STORO MAIZE FLOUR AREA GRAPPA AREA BERRY FRUIT AREA VEGETABLE AREA EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL AREA DRO PLUM AREA ZAMBANA ASPARAGUS AREA 2 BLEGGIO WALNUT AREA TROUT AREA CURED MEATS MARONI CHESTNUT AREA AND SALAMI AREA HONEY AREA CHEESE AREA 3 GARDA TRENTINO, VALLE DEI LAGHI, VAL DEL CHIESE, VALLE DI LEDRO, VALLI GIUDICARIE, VALLE RENDENA, DOLOMITI DI BRENTA E6HHD86BED B69DCC6 9>86BE><A>D 86GADB6<CD EG:H6C:AA6 <GJEED9>7G:CI6 86K:96<D E6G8DC6IJG6A: s 696B:AAD 696B:AAD7G:CI6 ;6>9:AA6 86G>HDAD E6<6C:AA6 K 6A<:CD K 6 s K 6AG:C9:C6 6C96AD E>CODAD BDAK:CD V X g s V H Z b j ^ A#Y^ ; BdakZcd E6<6C:AA6 H6CADG:COD >C76C6A: s A#Y^ H#BVhhZcoV HIÝC>8D I:GB:9> Z IdWa^cd 8DB6CD s s ID7A>CD 7A:<<>D H6G8=:s adamello Brenta I>DC: s nature park EDCI:6G8=: s86BED ADB6HD ;>6KÝ s V X ADB6HD g V s H Z A#Y^ b j 8VkZY^cZ ^ ; E6HHD9:A76A>CD ;^ jb 86HI:A9G:C6 Z s 8] 9Gä ^Z 7:GHDC: s hZ s sE>:K:9>7DCD K 6 A9:A8=>:H: sI:CCD 6G8Ds sK6GDC: s8>B:<D G>K69:A<6G96 A#Y^ AZYgd AD9GDC: HIDGD C6<Ds s K 6A9>A:9G D E6HHD Garda olives IG:B6AOD n ITINERARY 1 n ITINERARY 2 V gY n ITINERARY 3 V < ^ n ITINERARY 4 Y d \ V A THE WINE AND FLAVOURS ROUTE OF LAKE GARDA AND THE BRENTA DOLOMITES valli Giudicarie In a total altitude gain of four thousand metres, this route climbs from the Mediterranean microclimate of Lake Garda, where the olives produce extra virgin olive oil, to the mountain climate and pasturelands of the Brenta Dolomites. Nine of these lakes lie within a few kilometres of each other in this pleasant valley crossed by the river Sarca. The scent rising gently from the Nosiola vineyards is transported by the Ora, the steady breeze from Lake Garda that keeps the air circling, cool and dry. The first stop is in Dro to taste the succulent plums and admire the attractive Drena Castle, and then the pine, fir and beech woods and olive groves, as well as the vineyards producing the grape for the prized Trentino Doc vino santo. The local wineries and the numerous distilleries producing the excellent Trentino Grappa are well worth a visit. A small romantic paradise awaits you farther on. The long line of carefree bathers matches the sails of the boats and windsurfs merrily caressed by the Ora, the mischievous wind that is a feature of this area and blows across the whole of the Valle dei Laghi and beyond to the Valle dell’Adige. The eastern shore of Lake Garda offers enchanting views and many gastronomic temptations of lake tradition, such as trout or bleak, all dressed with the superb Garda Trentino extra virgin olive oil. Hapsburg memories have also influenced the cuisine and so goulash, strangolapreti, dumplings and salted cod are the stars of a sumptuous repast accompanied by the notes of highly evocative waltzes. extra virgin olive oil 6 GARDA TRENTINO, VALLE DEI LAGHI, VAL DEL CHIESE, VALLE DI LEDRO, GIUDICARIE, VAL RENDENA, DOLOMITI DI BRENTA Torbole Itinerary 3 POlenta, cheese, sAusAges ANd A little jOuRNey Through TIMe Valle del chiese, Valle di ledro, Valli giudicarie Before continuing on the trail of Trentino tastes, there is just time to take a leap backwards, something like four thousand years, because at Fiavé there are the remains of a lake dwelling area, an ancient prehistoric village.
