NHS 24 (24/7) Each person is allocated their own counsellor, sometimes within days of first making contact, which means that they always speak to the same person and never have to Call free on 111 repeat information about what has happened to them. The service is free and sessions are anonymous and totally confidential. Anyone using the service will decide what time of day or evening is best for them and as it is telephone counselling, it doesn’t matter where they live and we know from our Crisis Centre clients that they choose to speak to their counsellor in a place where they feel safe. (24/7) The counselling team are fully-trained and highly experienced, with male and female Free phone 0808 counsellors available from a range of ethnic backgrounds. Lothian Bipolar Self Help group are holding a Car Boot Sale at the Corn exchange on Saturday 02 July from 0830 – 1300 in aid of Bipolar Scotland. Last year’s event was a Emergency Social great success so why not go along and support a very worthy cause. Work Service 0800 731 6969 (out LEARN - Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) course in July (& August 12) of hours only) WRAP is a programme of self-exploration that can help you take control of your own mental health and recovery. Our workshops are based on the model developed under copyright in the USA by Mary Ellen Copeland. WRAP recognises that you are the expert in your own experience and there are no limits to recovery. It is based on 5 key Mental Health concepts: hope, personal responsibility, support, self-advocacy and education. Ways of Living Well: Thursdays 28 July, and 4, 11, 18 August, 11am – 3pm For people with lived experience of mental health issues wanting to learn about wellness and recovery. Each person is unique, with strengths and insights to share. Together we will explore the recovery journey, peer support and share stories about paths to wellness. The focus is to enable people when most services with lived experience to participate, anyone with an interest in mental health is are closed: welcome to perform as well.

The event runs from 7.00 pm to 11.00 pm at Southside Community Centre Café at 117 Nicolson Street, Edinburgh, EH8 9ER. There is a suggested donation of 50p to come along and it is BYOB. All are welcome.

Health in Mind: mental health information service The Information Service team will help you to find out about where you can find support for your mental health in Edinburgh and the Lothians such as local services, groups, and things to do to help you keep well. They also have self-help materials, and a large library of books and other resources available to borrow.

This is a free, friendly drop-in information service where you can get advice and guidance or just come along for a
