Note sheets provide valuable information on the administration activities conducted at the agency as well as a wider focus on the turbulent activities and events in the Southwest during this period between Apache Native Americans and dominant Anglo population and administrators. Reference notes depict the rapid change in agency personnel and the difficulty in providing supplies, rations, and tools to assist Apaches in attempting a new life style. 10 Boxes, 7 linear ft. BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE John Bret Harte is a great-grandson of celebrated western writer Bret Harte and has written books and materials dealing with Arizona and Southwestern history.
