COUNTY COUNCIL THE COUNTY OF SOMERSET (WESTERN LANE , B3222 AND BURROW ROAD TIMBERSCOMBE) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2015

Notice is hereby given that intends to make an Order in pursuance of the provisions of Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to introduce temporary traffic restrictions as specified in the Schedule to the Order.

This order is required to facilitate BT Openreach works and is necessary for the safety of the workforce whilst carrying out their duties. The restrictions may not be effected for the whole period but it is anticipated that the roads will be restricted as and when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessary to execute the works.

Western Lane, Minehead: The works are expected to start on the 23rd November 2015 and to last for 7 days.

B3222, Dulverton: The works are expected to start on the 23rd November 2015 and to last for 7 days.

Burrow Road, Timberscombe: The works are expected to start on the 12th December 2015 and to last for 7 days.

The Order becomes effective on the 20th November 2015 and will remain in force for eighteen months.

SCHEDULE Temporary Prohibition of Vehicles

Western Lane, From its junction with Parks Lane to its Minehead junction with Vicarage Road for a distance of 232 metres in a northerly direction.

B3222 Fore Street From a point 95 metres west of its to Machine Cross, junction with Great Meadow for a Dulverton distance of 427 metres in a westerly direction.

Burrow Road, From its junction with Waydown Road to Timberscombe Croft Cottage, Burrow for a distance of 900 metres in a north westerly direction.

SOMERSET COUNTY COUNCIL in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act of 1984 HEREBY MAKES THE FOLLOWING ORDER:-

1 This Order shall come into operation on the 20th day of November 2015 and shall remain in force for eighteen months. The restrictions may not be effected for the whole period but it is anticipated that the roads will be restricted as and when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessary to execute the works.

2 This order is required to facilitate BT Openreach works and is necessary for the safety of the workforce whilst carrying out their duties.

3 This Order shall be cited as The County of Somerset (Western Lane Minehead, B3222 Dulverton and Burrow Road Timberscombe)(Temporary Traffic Restrictions) Order 2015.

STATEMENT OF REASONS FOR PROPOSING TO MAKE THE ORDER

For avoiding danger to persons, or other traffic using the road, or any other road, or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.
