Ist Pakchess FIDE rated Chess Tournament 2015

Chess Federation of Pakistan under the auspices of World Chess Federation (FIDE) and in collaboration with the Chess Association of Punjab is organizing "Ist Pakchess FIDE rated Chess Tournament 2015" at Jinnah Conference Hall, SMART Hotel, 36 – Liberty Market Gulberg III, Lahore from Thursday, May 21 to Sunday, May 24, 2015.

Being the First FIDE rated tournament in the Country, the number of players has been confined to thirty out of which twenty shall be unrated while ten players shall be rated. Registration of players shall be based on first come first serve.

System of Play: The tournament will be conducted as per FIDE Laws of Chess and FIDE Swiss System with 7 rounds.

Time control: 90 Minutes + 30 sec per move from move number 1.

Accommodation:

• Free accommodation for all Fide rated players from 21st May to 24th May at Gulistan Hotel. • Unrated players shall arrange their own accommodation.

Cash Prize: Cash prizes for top 5 positions plus Trophy and shields

• All players are required to record their moves. • Mobile phone must me switched off in the playing hall. • A player shall forfeit the game if he reaches one hour after the start of the round. • Tie break method shall be buchholz.

Important Note:

As per Fide “Regulations for Registration & Licensing of Players” A Player who registers to compete in any FIDE rated competition shall be required to provide his FIN (Fide ID Number).

Chess Federation of Pakistan (CFP) shall issue the FIN if the Player does not have one at the time of registration. CFP will register the Player with FIDE by providing information containing the Player's Name, Gender, Place & Date of Birth, Citizenship and Contact e-mail. It is optional if a Photograph or an ID such as a Passport can be provided. On the FIDE Rating List, information of Player's Name, Gender, and Year of Birth shall be included. After the registration in the tournament, players should send their details to following officials of Chess Federation of Pakistan to get FIN.

Coordination Council: There shall be a coordination Council of the CFP who shall be responsible for the conduct of the Fide rated tournaments and resolution of all the connected issues comprising of the following.

Any Provincial Chess Association or the affiliated department desirous of organizing FIDE rated tournament may formally apply to the President through General Secretary Chess Federation of Pakistan for necessary approval and proper permission. While according approval all the required details will be indicated.
