23-27 Quebecois Calendar House Presents…. The Real Québéçois Quebec City * La Malbaie * Baie-Sainte Catherine Burlington, VT July 23-27, 2018 (5 days / 4 nights) Day 1: This morning we depart on our journey at 7:00am, from Calendar House, 388 Pleasant St, Southington. We will head north into the St. Lawrence River Valley and the city of Quebec, Canada. Our hotel is the beautiful 4-star Palace Royal, located at the St. John Gate to the Walled City. Dinner this evening is included in the Steak House Restaurant at the Palace Royal this evening. (D) Day 2: With a local guide we will see the Quebec Citadel, stroll the Boardwalk at Dufferin Terrace by the Chateau Frontenac and visit Place Royal, where Samuel Champlain first settled over 400 years ago. We’ll visit the Plains of Abraham and the ornate Quebec Basilica. Shop, dine and explore. There’s a lot of history here. Our sightseeing continues with a visit to St. Anne de Beaupre, outdoor bread ovens and Montmorency Falls. After our guided tour, we will continue our journey north along the St. Lawrence to La Malbaie and check into our 5-star hotel, the Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu. Dinner is included this evening at the hotel. (D) Day 3: This morning we continue north to Baie-Sainte Catherine where we will board the AML Grand Fleuve for a 3-hour whale watch. Located at the confluence of the St. Lawrence River and the Saguenay Fjord, Baie-Sainte Catherine is one of the two main entrances for some of the most beautiful whale watching sights in the world! A box lunch is included while you are on board. After we will head back to the hotel where you will have the remainder of the evening on your own. Take advantage of the Casino de Charlevoix, which offers games for all players. From poker, to baccarat to slot machines, and is located on the Fairmont’s grounds, and accessible from the hotel by tunnel. (L) Day 4: This morning we will depart for the United States with a quick stop at Duty Free. Bonjour et adieu to Quebec City, La Malbaie and Canada! Later this afternoon we arrive at our hotel for the evening, the Hampton Inn Burlington. Dinner this evening is included on Spirit of Ethan Allen Cruise. Enjoy the beautiful sights of Lake Champlain. (D) Day 5: After breakfast, included at the hotel, we head for home with wonderful memories of our tour to Quebec. Approximate return to Southington is 5:00 pm. Le Marché des montagnes se voit octroyer une contribution financière non remboursable de 50 000 $ pour le démarrage de la coopérative alimentaire située à Notre-Dame-des-Monts qui verra le jour prochainement. L’établissement de ce service de proximité favorisera l’attractivité de la municipalité en plus de répondre à un besoin criant exprimé par les citoyens. Un montant de 47 471 $ servira à propulser le projet d’établissement de l’Espace Hubert Reeves à La Malbaie. Cette contribution non remboursable permettra la réalisation du plan fonctionnel et technique du futur bâtiment et la finalisation du nouveau concept d’exposition. Le financement de cette étude constitue la dernière étape avant le dépôt officiel des demandes de subvention auprès des différents ministères. La nouvelle entreprise La Boîte maraichère Charlevoix, qui s’établira à Clermont, obtient une aide de 30 000 $. Ce projet d’agriculture en conteneur, qui verra le jour à Clermont, se démarque par sa nature innovante et son unicité. La Boîte maraichère Charlevoix entend livrer ses premiers produits au printemps 2021. De son côté, l’entreprise Caravane Charlevoix se voit octroyer 2 250 $ pour des honoraires professionnels liés à un projet ponctuel.

Les domaines de la construction et du tourisme, notamment, seront en essor. En outre, les investissements devraient demeurer en hausse au cours de notre période de prévisions, soutenus par la présence de projets d’envergure, dont la construction du nouveau complexe hospitalier (NCH) (2,0 G$) et du projet Le Phare (755 M$). f Par ailleurs, les problèmes liés à la fluidité des personnes, des transports et des marchandises demeurent un enjeu préoccupant dans la région, alors que les défis liés aux difficultés de recrutement de la main‑d’œuvre continuent de s’accroître. Cela commence, notamment, à freiner l’expansion d’entreprises et, dans ce contexte, le rythme du marché du travail est appelé à être modeste dans la région d’ici 2020.
