Please share with the delegation. Arrival Arrangement CUSEF staff will pick up the delegation at the airport, and will be carrying a welcome board with the delegation name printed so that you can recognize them. A bus will be arranged to take the group to the hotel, and for a more detailed run down of the rest of the day, please refer to the itinerary. Currency Exchange We recommend all the delegates to prepare Chinese Yuan (CNY) in advance for their own expenses in China (if needed) as we may not have time to go to a bank. Currency Exchange will also be available at the hotel in Beijing but will NOT be available at our hotel in Lanzhou. Three meals per day (breakfast, lunch and dinner) are pre-arranged and will be paid for by the Foundation. If delegate members choose to buy their own food, either by room service or at other places, they should pay for the additional expenses incurred. Also, please be noted that laundry service is not free and the expenses are NOT covered by the Foundation. Travel Insurance & Medical Insurance As a kindly reminder, please make sure that all participants have travel insurance and medical insurance for the two weeks visit in China before the trip. And please be aware of the insurance plan for the group and its corresponding hospitals in China in case of emergency. Please remind the delegates to bring their own medicines if needed. In case there is any health emergency, we will send the delegate to the local clinic directly. Please let us know if any delegate member has any health issue that we need to be aware of. Opening Remarks There will be an opening ceremony at Lanzhou University. The universities would like to invite one chaperone and one student to give opening remarks (3-5 mins). Gifts As the hosting university may present gifts for both the students and chaperones, it is suggested that you also prepare some gifts for them in order to show courtesy. Attire and Climate Students may prepare a set of business-casual for the opening/ closing ceremony. We recommend the student to check the climate before departure, but July/August is usually hot in China. However, Lanzhou is cooler than Beijing: as such, we recommend students bring a light jacket or check the local weather before packing. Received by NSD/FARA Registration Unit 07/24/2019 9:31:53 AM Received by NSD/FARA Registration Unit 07/24/2019 9:31:53 AM As many of the cultural tours are outside and include walking, students should bring at the very least one pair of good, comfortable walking shoes. Luggage We will be taking the domestic flight from Beijing to Lanzhou. However, for the domestic flight, the luggage is only 20KG (about 44 LBS) per person, overweight charges will need to be covered by the students/chaperones on their own.
