According to the arrest report, Heldenbrand, 42, stole the money from Simmons and office partner Dr. Ernest J. Gesiotto while she worked as their office manager and bookkeeper. She reportedly forged her name on their business checks and then deposited the funds into her personal banking account. Simmons told police that when he confronted Heldenbrand about the thefts, she admitted that she had committed the crimes over a period of about 1 1/2 years, which is the length of time she was employed there. Simmons reported this to the police Feb. 8. A police investigation revealed well in excess of 10 business checks of Simmons that had been made payable to cash, with Simmons' signature forged on them. They were endorsed "For Deposit Only" to the personal account of Heldenbrand and her husband.

Here are some frequently asked questions (and answers) about having Maui Wowi at your mitzvah party. Do your smoothies contain alcohol? No. We can add alcohol for adults’ drinks to make an awesome pina colada, daiquiri or margarita, but our blends are alcohol free. When we make a spiked drink, we add the alcohol to the cup, not the blender. We can also add your favorite cordial or liquor to espresso drinks for adults – Bailey’s, Sambuca, Grand Marnier and Irish Whisky are favorites. If you provide the alcohol, we will pour it for guests. What’s your setup look like? That’s up to you. Our typical setup is a portable tiki bar, like this: It’s four feet wide and about seven feet tall with the tiki roof. Our servers typically wear Hawaiian shirts. Sanibel Assistant City Manager Bill Mills, Sanibel- Captiva Conservation Foundation Executive Director Erick Lindblad and Sanibel city councilmen Mark "Bird" Westall and Wally Kain made two 10-minute oral presentations to the Lands Acquisition Advisory Council of the Department of Natural Resources, the agency responsible for selecting projects to receive funding from its Conservation and Recreation Lands (CARL) Acquisition Program. Sanibel's team had a lot of information to wedge into the short time period, but got a much needed boost when state Rep. Tim Ireland showed up and made a strong bid for funding Sanibel's projects. Mills said Ireland spoke knowledgeably about the projects and the island's efforts to do everything possible to acquire lands.
