Appendix 2: Elected Officials Meeting

The elected officials meeting was attended by the Mayor and members of the Hamlet Council and HTO. During the meeting, participants raised the following issues:

 Question: When doe the plan apply to projects that are transboundary with the municipality? o The Commission responded that it depends on the project. Generally, municipal activities are not projects. But a mine or industrial activity is, and would be subject to the plan.

 There are parks in place but there are many areas that have not been explored.

 The community currently has a high unemployment rate.

 Sometimes the community is split in how they want activity to proceed.
