Throughout the years the dance team has been made up of cloggers from all over the Ohio River Valley area that has included Point Pleasant, Mason, New Haven, Cottageville, and Ravenswood in West Virginia, and from Pomeroy, Middleport, Racine, Syracuse, Jackson, Chillicothe, Rutland, Cheshire, and Reedsville in Ohio. Group members have ranged in age from the very young to the very young-at-heart! The members of the group are like family to one another and have wonderfully colorful personalities what are up-lifting and upbeat. During the late 1980’s and throughout the 1990’s, the clogging group went out on the road to numerous performance venues up and down the eastern part of the United States. Some of the most well known tour locations included shows at: the Magic Kingdom at the Walt Disney World Resort, the Dollywood theme park, Opryland USA, Sea World of Orlando, and at numerous fairs and festivals including the Circleville Pumpkin Festival and the Ohio State Fair. The Midnight Cloggers provided entertainment for countless charitable events and functions to help raise funds for community initiatives and for residents in need of assistance. The group commonly made appearances at block parties, fairs, festivals, school events, private functions, parades, and regattas. The team served as opening act for Kitty Wells and for the Osbourne Brothers, and made several appearances at the request of Congressman Bob Wise. “The Midnight Cloggers 25th Anniversary Silver Spectacular” is being presented as a special tribute to all of the previous and current members of the group over the past 25 years. This live stage show will offer two performances. On June 16th the group will perform at 7:30pm and on June 17th the matinee performance will be at 3:00pm. The show is a celebration of 25 magical years of knee-slappin’, toe-tappin’, foot-stompin’ fun! Bruce Wolfe, director of the Midnight Cloggers, has worked for the Walt Disney Company for the past 20 years and has been flying between Ohio and Florida over the past year and a half in order to conduct rehearsals in preparation for the anniversary production, with Margie Wolfe and Betty Smith conducting rehearsals and leading the group.
