“UNCOMMON LIFE CHALLENGE” TO COINCIDE WITH THE RELEASE OF TONY DUNGY’S THE ONE YEAR UNCOMMON LIFE DAILY CHALLENGE BOOK

CAROL STREAM, ILL.—Tyndale House Publishers today announced that in October 2011 it will release The One Year Uncommon Life Daily Challenge, a book of 365 daily reflections from No. 1 New York Times bestselling author and former NFL coach Tony Dungy (along with co-writer Nathan Whitaker) on living an “uncommon” life of integrity, honoring your family and friends, and creating a life of real significance and impact. Along with the release of the book, Dungy will kick off an “Uncommon Life Challenge,” which is an invitation by Dungy to accept the challenge to spend time with God every day for a year. The goal of the Uncommon Life Challenge is to develop Christian character and lead an “uncommon” life that doesn’t follow the crowd. The challenge campaign will include an updated website (www.uncommonchallenge.com) where people can join a community of others who are taking the challenge. They’ll be able to watch a special message from Dungy, interact with other challenge participants, and even download a certificate to remind them of their daily commitment.

“My hope is that the ‘Uncommon Life Daily Challenge’ will encourage people to consistently seek God’s direction in life,” said Dungy. “While everyone is racing around, trying to figure out how to get ahead in terms of worldly status and success, keep playing a different game. Be Uncommon.”

In 2008, Don’t Bet Against Me!, the memoir of Deanna Favre, wife of NFL great , spent ten consecutive weeks on either the New York Times hardcover nonfiction primary list (top 15) or expanded list (top 35). It is now in its eighth printing. Tyndale released The Winners Manual: For the Game of Life by Ohio State University football coach Jim Tressel in July 2008, and the book spent eight consecutive weeks on the Times’s “Advice, How-To, and Miscellaneous” list (either primary or expanded), reaching as high as No. 3.

In 2009, –winning coach and NASCAR team owner ’s book Game Plan for Life reached as high as No. 3 on the Times’s “Advice, How-To” list in August. First Things First: The Rules of Being a Warner, by Kurt and Brenda Warner, reached No. 10 on the Times’s hardcover nonfiction list in July.
