Se realizó una revisión sobre las evidencias médicas y experimentales Jairo Téllez Mosquera relacionadas con el uso medicinal de cannabinoides. La mayoría de los cannabinoides usados terapéuticamente buscan activar los efectos Director Grupo de Investigación Sustancias antiinflamatorios, analgésicos, antioxidantes y neuroreparadores. En otras patologías como glaucoma, adicción a drogas, patologías mentales y cáncer, la evidencia no es suficiente actualmente. El uso terapéutico de la planta cannabis sativa tiene limitaciones y su evidencia médica no es suficiente, debido principalmente a sus efectos psicoactivos. Además, cuando la vía de administración es por fumar, su uso no se recomienda por los efectos adversos documentados en el aparato respiratorio y por su asociación con la aparición de patologías psiquiátricas cuando es consumida por adolescentes. A review of the medical and experimental evidence regarding the medicinal use of cannabinoids is presented here. Therapeutic uses of cannabinoids include antiinflammatory, analgesic, antioxidant and neuroreprotection. These drugs have been used with sufficient medical evidence and limited side effects in acute and chronic neurological disorders, chronic neuropath pain, as well as antiemetics in vomiting and nausea of different etiology and as an appetite stimulant in eating disorders.
