In this connection, I would like to draw the attention of your Excellency’s Government to information I have received regarding the imminent eviction of seven Kaiowá and Guarani communities, in the Tekohas (traditional lands) of Ypo'i, Apyka'i, Teyi Jusu, Pindo Roky, Itagua, Guaiviry and Kurusu Amba located in five counties: Dourados, Caarapo, Amambai, Aral Moreira, Coronel Sapucaia, all in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul. There are also allegations of possible violence should this eviction take place, including a declaration by indigenous community members that they plan to resist the eviction until death. According to information received: The Kaiowá and Guarani are indigenous peoples from the state of Mato Grosso do Sul. The Kaiowá and Guarani historically inhabited the region and lived according to their traditional ways of life on their territories. At the start of the 20th century, however, the Kaiowa Guarani people and other indigenous peoples of the State of Mato Grosso do Sul were removed from their ancestral lands, and forced to live on reserves.

    ENVIRONMENTAL ANALYSIS OF AQUIDAUANA RIVER FLOOD PLAIN OF THE PRELUDE OF SOUTH MATOGROSSENSE’S PANTANAL: FLOODS AND RISKS TO REVERBERATE IN AQUIDAUANA/MS TOWN V.S. Anunciação¹ and E.F.L. Fernandes² 1. Adjunct Professor at the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul, Campus of Aquidauana 2. Student of Post Graduate in Geography, Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul, Campus Aquidauna ABSTRACT: The Aquidauna town is located in the western region of the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil, is considered part of the Plain Pantaneira's Protection Zone. This work seeks to reflect the environmental vulnerability of floodplain inundation on the right bank of the river Aquidauna within the city, emphasizing the degree of risk to which it is exposed population, urban mapping function in flood area, identify the intensity of the magnitudes seasonal flooding between 1976 and 2013 to determine the chronological time of exceptional magnitude floods occurred in this period within the urban area of the municipality of Aquidauna. To achieve the objectives questionnaires on the right bank of the river Aquidauna were performed within the floodplain, site visits, job mapping through CAD software for design, survey data quota, flow through the system and rainfall at Hydro Web system. The results of the study identify flood risks associated with the housing, which can be classified in Low - R1, Medium - R2, and High - R3. It was found that the area about 40 % of the homes is in a high risk situation (R3), demonstrating that environmental vulnerability associated with rainfall excesses arising from climatic extremes exposes the society to a critical situation and susceptible to frequent flooding , when the magnitude of the water moves toward its floodplain flood impacting the Aquidauna town.

NOTA TÉCNICA O girassol (Helianthus annuus L.) apresenta ampla capacidade de adaptação a diversos ambientes, podendo ser cultivado em climas temperados, subtropicais e tropicais, sendo pouco influenciado pelas variações de latitude e altitude. A temperatura, ótima para seu desenvolvimento, situa-se na faixa de 27ºC a 28ºC. Apresenta capacidade de tolerar temperaturas baixas (5ºC a 8ºC) durante a germinação, emergência e em estádios iniciais de desenvolvimento. Temperaturas baixas aumentam o ciclo da cultura, atrasando a floração e a maturação e, quando ocorrem após o início da floração, podem afetar significativamente o rendimento. Baixas temperaturas e alta umidade nos capítulos podem favorecer a ocorrência de doenças fúngicas.

This work is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution International License (CC BY). http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ Abstract This paper analyzes the Indigenous people’s struggle for an intercultural, specific, differentiated school intended for the valorization of their culture and identity. Aiming to catechize and adapt Indigenous peoples to the western culture, settlers introduced school education as a means to make the Indians give up their identities and integrate them into the national culture. This paper evidences that the Indians have opposed the colonial school right from the start, and by means of struggle and organization, they obtained the right to an intercultural, specific, differentiated Indi- genous school. However, obtaining this right had not put an end to their struggle, as the end of co- lonial school did not mean the end of coloniality. Keywords Indigenous School, Coloniality, Identity 1. Introduction The struggle for a school oriented towards cultural diversity by questioning the school that values the hegemonic culture has characterized the last decades in Brazil. In this struggle, the Indigenous movements have stood out in the construction of an intercultural, specific, differentiated school concerned with both the valorization of their culture and the affirmation of their identities.
