They hope to build alliances with relevant institutions that can apply international pressure to Brazil’s public and private sector actors that are now threatening indigenous and other protected lands in the Brazilian Amazon rainforest. Luiz Henrique Eloy Amado, C.O.I.A.B. Legal Counsel Luiz Henrique Eloy Amado is the legal counsel of C.O.I.A.B. and an indigenous attorney from the Terena People’s village of Ipegue, Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil. Eloy Terena, as he is commonly known, has first-hand knowledge on the situation of indigenous peoples in the Brazilian Amazon rainforest and an extensive experience on defending criminalized indigenous grass-root leaders and representing indigenous communities in land rights cases before Brazil’s Supreme Federal Court. -

No son ni indios, ni Amerindios . Son Bororo, Guarani, Kaiowa, Kayapo, Terena, Xavabte o Yawanawai. Comunidades locales globalizadas que representan sólo el 0,25 % de la población brasileña, pero que forman parte de las primeras culturas de la sustentabilidad sobre todo el continente americano. Salir de su reserva local, es el deseo experimentado por los jóvenes Terena de Mato Grosso do Sul. El Terena, cuyo espíritu de apertura es un constante permanente, dice que su liberación pasa actualmente por las escuelas de los "blancos" como forma de supervivencia, como refuerzo cultural de su pueblo y para poder combinar sus conocimientos y sus tradiciones a los conocimientos científico-técnicos. Pretenden obtener el reconocimiento de sus plenos derechos de propiedad y desarrollarse de redes sustentables de territorios menos tributarios de las lógicas territorialistas de los Estados y del predominio del mercado. -

It was hypothesized that log race is an ethnosport that can be consider under the Amazonian perspectivism, while the body making of Timbira people is made by this practice involves the common participation of all members of the community. Such practices are adopted the concepts of: a) ethnosport as conceived by Kylasov; b) the modern experience of traditional sports and games events of Siberians who have much in common with Brazilian, especially on the Timbira log race; c) the Amazon-Amerindian perspectivism and/or the multinaturalism versus multiculturalism originated in the concept of Viveiros-de-Castro, as well his d) Anti-Narcissistic critics, founding echo in post-Jungian and Deleuze-Guattari´s postulates. A study to establish the social psychology of ethnosport was conducted with an appeal to a qualitative method, observation included during many visits in the last five years, 2015–2019, in Timbira communities around the Indigenous Land of Timbira in Maranhão State. -

Arawak languages are spoken in lowland Amazonia and beyond, covering French Guiana, Suriname, Guiana, Venezuela, Colombia, Peru, Brazil, and Bolivia, and formerly in Paraguay and Argentina. Wayuunaiki (or Guajiro), spoken in the region of the Guajiro peninsula in Venezuela and Colombia, is the largest language of the family. Garifuna is the only Arawak language spoken in Belize, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Guatemala in Central America. Groups of Arawak speakers must have migrated from the Caribbean coast to the Antilles a few hundred years before the European conquest. At least several dozen Arawak languages have become extinct since the European conquest. The highest number of recorded Arawak languages is centered in the region between the Rio Negro and the Orinoco. -

Atualmente estudante do 3º ano do curso de Letras – Habilitação Inglês pela Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso do Sul, campus Aquidauana - MS e Especialista em Metodologia do Ensino de Língua Portuguesa e Estrangeira. [email protected] Data de recebimento: 12/09/2011 - Data de aprovação: 15/10/2011 RESUMO O presente artigo foi desenvolvido com o intuito de discutir a relevância do aprendizado da Língua Portuguesa, bem como o bilinguismo, em comunidades indígenas terenas no Estado do Mato Grosso do Sul. Um determinado país pode conviver com mais de uma língua, como é o caso do Brasil, uma vez que se trata de um país plurilíngue: além da Língua Portuguesa, há em nosso território cerca de 180 línguas indígenas e a Língua de Sinais. O povo Terena ainda mantém a sua língua, embora em muitas aldeias apenas a Língua Portuguesa seja utilizada em seu cotidiano, assim como uma grande parte das diferentes etnias presentes no território nacional. A escola deve trabalhar de modo a voltar-se para a existência, estrutura e uso de diferentes línguas que fazem parte do território brasileiro, promovendo não apenas a reflexão metalinguística, mas a compreensão de como se constituem identidades e singularidades de diferentes povos e etnias. Nesta perspectiva, analisar a relevância da Língua Portuguesa e o bilinguismo utópico presente nas comunidades indígenas é ampliar conhecimentos e fornecer dados para que se desperte o interesse para que pesquisas na área sejam realizadas.
