Jurnal Invensi Vol. 2 No. 2 Desember 2017 SI GANJUA LALAI (KEKUATAN DAN KELEMBUTAN PEREMPUAN MINANGKABAU) Fitriani [email protected] Abstrak Karya tari Si Ganjua Lalai merupakan gambaran tentang perempuan Minangkabau yang selain memiliki kekuatan juga memiliki kelembutan. Si Ganjua Lalai adalah ungkapan untuk gadis Minangkabau yang menggambarkan pribadi perempuan Minangkabau yang lembut namun tegas, bijaksana dan bertindak di atas kebenaran. Karya tari Si Ganjua Lalai berawal dari rangsang visual yaitu saat mendapatkan informasi dari cerita Kaba Sabai Nan Aluih berupa pepatah “alua tataruang patah tigo, Samuik tapijak indak mati”. Dari pepatah tersebut memberitahukan bahwa perempuan Minang selain memiliki kekuatan juga memiliki kelembutan. Landasan penciptaan yang digunakan adalah kreativitas dan koreografi. Pendekatan kreativitas digunakan karena penciptaan karya seni tidak lepas dari proses berpikir dan bekerja secara kreatif. Melalui pendekatan inilah cara berpikir dan cara bekerja secara kreatif akan dibangun. Pendekatan kedua adalah koreografi, yang digunakan sebagai landasan dalam mencipta estetika tari yang meliputi gerak tubuh, komposisi, kesatuan dan harmoni, serta aspek-aspek laku dan visual lainnya. Kata kunci: perempuan minangkabau, kekuatan, kelembutan, si ganjua lalai Abstract Si Ganjua Lalai dance work is a picture of Minangkabau women who besides having strength also has tenderness. Si Ganjua Lalai is an expression for the Minangkabau girl who portrays the Minangkabau female personality who is gentle yet firm, wise and acts upon the truth. Si Ganjua Lalai dance work originated from visual stimuli that is when getting information from the story of Kaba Sabai Nan Aluih in the form of the saying “alua tataruang patah tigo, Samuik tapijak indak mati ”. From the saying goes that Minang women in addition to having strength also has a tenderness. -

It is part of the formal attire or regalia prominent to a Sultan, King or the Yang DiPertuan Besar in Tanah Melayu states with a monarchy reign. As such, the tengkolok has been classified as a three-dimensional work of art. The objective of this research is to analyses the tengkolok as a magnificent piece of Malay art. This analysis is performed based on the available designs of the tengkolok derived from the Malay Sultanate in Malaysia. To illustrate this, the author uses a qualitative method of data collection in the form of writing. Results obtained showed that the tengkolok is a sublime creation of art by the Malays. This beauty is reflected in its variety of names and designs. The name and design of this headdress has proved that the Malays in Malaysia have a high degree of creativity in the creation of the tengkolok. -

Vol. XIII No.2 Th. 2014 STRUKTUR GARAPAN GANDANG TAMBUA SEBAGAI PERWUJUDAN KEARIFAN LOKAL MASYARAKAT DESA CUBADAK AIA KECAMATAN PARIAMAN UTARA KOTA PARIAMAN Irfi Sri Wahyuni1 & Indrayuda2 1SMK Perbankan Pariaman 2Fakultas Bahasa dan Seni Universitas Negeri Padang Abstract This article aims to reveal the structure of arrangement of Gandang Tambua and the function of Gandang Tambua in the communities in terms of local wisdom. This study examines the values in local wisdom that are represented in the arrangement of Gandang Tambua in Cubadak Aia village, Pariaman Utara district, Pariaman City. This research is qualitative using descriptive method. Data is collected through interview, observation with direct participation, documentation, and literature review. Data is then analysed according to 0iles and Huberman‘s. The result shows that the arrangement structure of Gandang Tambua consists of parts related to each other. ”Tasa‘ plays as the main role in leading the performance of Gandang Tambua, while Gandang Tambua follows Tasa. It means, based on the local wisdom, the leaders are one step in front and one level higher. It also refers to the social structure of Minangkabau community where the children see their uncles as kings, the unces see ”pangulu‘ (tribal leaders) as kings, pangulu see the truth as king, and the truth stands on its own. Gandang Tambua also serves as the media for social integration, entertainment, and communication. Surau Nagari Lubuk Bauk dan Surau Gadang Bintungan Sumatera Barat : Tinjauan Gaya Bangunan dan Makna Ornamen Ivo Giovanni, Isman Pratama Nasution Departemen Arkeologi, Fakultas Ilmu Pengetahuan Budaya, Universitas Indonesia E-mail: [email protected] Abstrak Artikel ini membahas bangunan surau di Sumatera Barat yaitu Surau Nagari Lubuk Bauk dan Surau Gadang Bintungan. Tujuannya adalah untuk melihat pengaruh adat pada bangunan surau berdasarkan tinjauan arsitektur dan makna ornamennya. Selain itu, dilakukan perbandingan antara surau dengan bangunan tradisional Minangkabau lainnya, yaitu rumah gadang dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif analitis. Hal ini dilakukan agar unsur-unsur adat yang terlihat pada surau dapat diuraikan dengan jelas, sehingga dapat diketahui makna dari setiap unsur adat tersebut dan peran surau bagi masyarakat Minangkabau pada saat surau tersebut dibangun. Berdasarkan kajian ini dapat diketahui bahwa Surau Nagari Lubuk Bauk dan Surau Gadang Bintungan memiliki bangunan yang berbeda. Surau Nagari Lubuk Bauk memiliki bentuk yang bertingkat, karena hal ini dipengaruhi oleh aliran adat Koto Piliang yang menganut paham aristokrasi, sedangkan Surau Gadang Bintungan tidak bertingkat karena dipengaruhi oleh aliran adat Bodi Caniago, yang menganut paham demokrasi. Selain itu ragam hias ornamen yang terdapat pada surau ini juga memiliki makna yang mengandung pesan moral yang dapat dijadikan sebagai pedoman hidup bagi masyarakat Minangkabau. Kata Kunci: Adat Minangkabau, Bangunan tradisional, Surau Gadang Bintungan, Surau Nagari Lubuk Bauk. Advances in Social Science, Education and Humanities Research, volume 463 Proceedings of the Eighth International Conference on Languages and Arts (ICLA-2019) Inventory, Identification, and Analysis of Randai Performing Arts Elements for the Development of Minangkabau Theatrical Dance Tulus Handra Kadir1 1 Universitas Negeri Padang, Padang, Indonesia, (email), [email protected] ABSTRACT This article describes the inventory, identification and analysis of elements of Randai performing art for the development of the Minangkabau theatrical dance based on Randai in the context of developing the Minangkabau performing arts. The development of contemporary performing arts, Randai and Minangkabau dance are not able to compete with modern performing arts. On the other hand, Randai has elements of performance that can be used in the development of theatrical dance, as a new form of Minangkabau performing art that combines elements of Randai and dance in Minangkabau. It is expected to be able to keep abreast of developments of contemporary performing arts. Development is based on research conducted qualitatively (the first phase of research) and experimentally (the second phase of research). Qualitative research was used to inventory and analyze data of Randai performance who were unable to compete in the realm of contemporary performing arts as well as inventory and analyze data, especially the elements of the performance that will be used in the development of the Minangkabau theatrical dance. Experimental research was used to create innovative dance that refers to the results of the first phase of research. This research uses an interdisciplinary approach (sociology /anthropology of dance and music, theater, choreography/dance composition, as well as the artistic performances). -

H.r Soebrantas km. 12,5 Simpang Baru Pekanbaru 28293- Telp/Fax0761-63277 ABSTRAK Kebudayaan adalah kompleks yang mencangkup, pengetahuan, kepercayaan, kesenian, moral, hukum, adat-istiadat, dan lain kemampuan serta kebiasaan oleh manusia anggota masyarakat. Tradisi adalah kebiasaan sosial yang diturunkan dari suatu generasi ke generasi lainnya melalui proses sosialisasi. Tradisi menentukan nilai-nilai dan moral masyarakat, karena tradisi merupakan aturan-aturan tentang hal apa yang benar dan hal apa yang salah menurut warga masyarakat. Tabuik adalah suatu warisan budaya berbentuk ritual upacara yang berkembang di Pariaman sejak sekitar dua abad yang lalu. Tabuik merupakan upacara atau perayaan mengenang kematian Husain, tetapi kemudian berkembang menjadi pertunjukan budaya khas Pariaman setelah masuknya unsur-unsur budaya Minangkabau. Bagi masyarakat Pariaman upacara ini tidak menjadi akidah (kepercayaan yang menyangkut dengan ketuhanan atau yang dipuja), pelaksanaannya hanya semata-mata merupakan upacara memperingati kematian Husain. Bagian yang dianggap penting dari perayaan tabuik adalah pelaksanaan pestanya yang oleh masyarakat Pariaman disebut batabuik atau mahoyak tabuik. Perayaan tabuik terdiri atas ritus-ritus atau rangkaian upacara yang dimulai dari ritus maambiak tanah ke sungai, maambiak/manabang batang pisang, maatam, marandai, maarak jari-jari, maarak saroban, tabuik naiak pangkek, maoyak tabuik, hingga ditutup dengan ritus mambuang tabuik ke laut. Ritus-ritus itu diwujudkan dalam bentuk prosesi-prosesi (arakan). Rentang waktu yang digunakan untuk prosesi-prosesi itu berkisar antara 10 hingga 14 hari pada awal bulan Muharram, bahkan dapat saja terjadi lebih dari itu. -
Fight-Dancing and the Festival Paul H. Mason
Paul H. Mason completed his PhD in cultural anthropology at CONTRIBUTOR Macquarie University (2012) under the supervision of Professors Greg Downey and John Sutton. He has conducted ethnographic fieldwork with arts communities in Indonesia and Brazil, religious minorities in India and Brazil, and tuberculosis patients in Australia and Vietnam. With support from Macquarie International, the National Department of Education in Indonesia, and the Australia Netherlands Research Collaboration, he has also conducted archival research in Australia, Brazil, Holland, and Indonesia. His research on martial arts has been published in Global Ethnographic, Cultures-Kairós, and Inside Indonesia, and he recently coedited The Fighting Art of Pencak Silat and its Music with Dr Uwe Paetzold (Robert Schumann University of Music, Düsseldorf), published as part of Brill’s Southeast Asian Library Series.
