 The programme:

Day 1 Alpine Ski-Tour to the Walcherhorn 3693 m Meeting point is at Terminal. From there we go together to followed by a short one hour ascent to the Mönchsjoch hut and a descent over the Ewig Schneefeld to the base of the Wal- cherhorn. A gentle ascent leads up on to the peak from where we can enjoy impressive views of the less common south face and the upper Eismeer. The tour then takes along the Fiescherhorn group and down to the Konkordiaplatz. The hut is reached over an iron staircase.

Day 2 Ascent to the Kranzberg 3666 m The Kranzberg lies between the Jungfrau and the Gletscherhorn and continues its way down as far as Konkordiaplatz. We reach the peak over the south glacier. Hardly another summit is surrounded by such high and majestic peaks. We descend over the Kranzberfirn, continue on pass the Lötschenlücke and on to the Hollandia hut at 3240m.

Day 3 The Aebniflueh 3962 m We get an early start and reach the peak over the Aebniflueh-firn. At first the start may seem rather steep but will gradually gentle out before a last short steep ascent leads us to the peak. Whilst taking a break we marvel at the views which are part of an UNESCO World Heritage. The descent leads us back to the hut and down the to Blatten in the Lötschental. This is one of the longest descents in the Alps. We jour- ney home towards late afternoon.

Footwear: In the equipment list in the appendix, you see what kind of footwear you need for this tour. If you have bought new boots, we suggest you try them out on an easy hike before undertaking a tour.

Lunch: A little lunch per day should be enough – some bars, a sandwich, dried fruit, nuts, … We recommend to drink a lot the evening before and in the morning. It helps to handle the altitude.
