Ecka Serbia Zrenjanin has many places of interest like City Hall, the Cathedral, Freedom Square, King Aleksandar I Street, etc. Hotel "Vojvodina" is situated on Liberty Square. There is a Tourist Information Office in the building of National Museum [Suboticeva 1]. First about the people! To meet the wonderful multi-national conglomerate with the famous local type of "Lala" [nickname for local residents of Vojvodina]. The pupils' tourism with ideal educative and recreation contents. Sports tourism. Good hotels with delicious food and jagged sports infrastructure. Medical tourism. A neighboring spa "Rusanda" in Melenci with famous healing mud and even more famous "shepherd" [lamb] stew. Hunting tourism and fishing. Ecka. Carska bara. Ornithological fauna. And in the very town? Many remnants of the middle-class building, a lot of unusual stories, a lot of curiosities. Face of the town. From Trg slobode [Freedom Square] do Trg Republike [Square of Republic]. Baroque building of the Zrenjanin Municipality [from 1820], Catholic church [with famous organ from 1864, Library "Zarko Zrenjanin" [you should buy book written by Todor Manojlovic], inevitable Mc Donalds [all ingredients are domestic but the formula is foreign!], The Bence palace, The Uspen Orthodox Temple [1743], Pedestrian bridge [the very place where the Beckerek bridge was located previously]. A short break in the brewery restaurant "Cetir' konja debela" [four fat horses]. Return by the other side of the main street. The Tuner palace ["Seherezada"]. You should ask what sort of a monster has build the Water tower in such an environment. Visit of the magnificent National Theatre "Tosa Jovanovic" [1839] is a must. You should pass by or enter the Museum and come to the Small bridge. You have to stop here. When you cast a round glance, you will see the most beautiful ambient area of the town: Music school, High school, Cultural Center, Reformation Church, court palace and an unusual rarity - remnants of the town Begej river course which is now called The Lake. __________________________________________________________ page 2 / 10 Ecka Only nine kilometers south of the Zrenjanin center there is Ecka - the best known place on the tourist map of the town and its neighborhood. There are several reasons for this. Previously, this was the seat of the Lazar counts aristocracy. Lazar Lukac, an Armenian from Erdelj, has bought in 1781. the huge property from the Vienna palace and was the founder of the family which ruled Ecka for whole 160 years. Their castle "Kastel", which was raised in the English style, has become the center of the social and cultural life greater than in the Beckerek itself. In this settlement, in which Serbs and Rumanians live in harmony for ages, the attention of a guest should be paid to the three buildings of spiritual and building culture: Serbian and Rumanian Orthodox and Catholic church. From Ecka you reach the same-named fishpond quickly [2 km], which is famous in Europe. Finally, Ecka has a significant place on the Fine Arts map of Yugoslavia. For four decades there is an Art Colony here and a collection of modern art today contains more than two thousand paintings and is being enriched every year. __________________________________________________________ Kastel Ecka An aristocracy castle of the Lazar counts in Ecka was built in 1820. by Lazar Agoston. The entire Ecka was owned then by this rich Armenian family. At the opening ceremony of this castle, count Esterhazi, the richest aristocrat of Hungary from that time was present, and the nine-years old music talent Franc List played the piano and amazed everyone present with his talent. For many years after this pompous events relating to the opening of the Ecka castle, people kept talking about those unforgettable days when even the poorest villager felt the joy of this unusual celebration. The castle and its beautiful surrounding was used by the Lazar family until 1893. when its last descendant died. The estate heads kept changing until the end of the II World War. Turned into a hotel and a restaurant, the Ecka castle "Kastel" attracts the attention of visitors even today and its surrounding silently witnesses about the rich and tumultuous history created here for centuries Melenci - On the sixteenth kilometer of the Zrenjanin - Kikinda road, north of the town, there is a place called Melenci - one of the biggest Vojvodina villages on the edge of which, in the pine wood, there is a spa and a resort Spa Rusanda, famous far and wide for its mud bath which was exported previously into the European capitals. In Melenci, there is also one of the last preserved mills on wind - the Bosnjak windmill. At the Orthodox cemetery, there is an unique Chapel of Dimitrijevic, the iconostasis of which was painted by one of the greatest Serbian painters Uros Predic. The Bosnjak Windmill - The Bosnjak windmill at the exit of Melenci towards Kikinda was built in 1891. It had three pairs of milling stones and all sorts of grains were milled there. Today, it is one of the two preserved windmills in Banat. According to a register from 1885, there were 280 windmills in Banat and Backa. __________________________________________________________ The Rusanda SPA - The special hospital for physical medicine and rehabilitation "Rusanda" officially started to work on May 20th 1867 as an endowment of Josif and Ana Klaic to the "griveous Serbian people". Water and mud of the "Rusanda" spa was researched by the experts team of the Emperor Vienna Academy "Josif" for ten years and found out that it is not behind Francesbad and Marienbad, the famous spas of that time regarding its healing effect. Mud and water from the 4 km2 lake contain a great deal of sulfuric acid, sodium sulfate, sodium carbonate and magnesium and calcium salts. The stationery capacity is 400 beds with the possibility of accommodation in the high category rooms. The entire spa complex was situated in the pine and linden wood crossed with the paths for walking and recreation. In the vicinity of the spa center there is a motel "Lipov cvet" with modern sports center. Carska bara [The Emperor's swamp] - It is located on the 17th km south of Zrenjanin, around 2 km far from the highway Zrenjanin-Belgrade. Ferdinand, the Austria-Hungarian heir to the throne and a victim of the Sarajevo assassination, was fond of hunting through this swamp, which is the reason why it got such a name. The Carska bara complex, which is the deserted Begej river flow, is part of the wider area [around 500 ha] belonging to the greatest European fresh water fishpond - Ecka. Mosaic water, grassy and wooden vegetation as well as the diversity of fauna, within which the central place is taken for the richness of the birds' world - ornithofauna, is the special natural value of this environment. Out of totally 310 species registered on the territory of Vojvodina, in the area of Carska bara as much as 295 species are registered. Carska bara has been put under the protection as a natural scientific-research area. In the swamp surrounding, hunting and fishing tourism is developed. The guests are expected at the hotel "Sibila" with the national restaurant specialized for preparation of fish and game. Boat renting is also a part of the touristic offer of Carska bara for visit the swamp and its picturesque coasts.... Serbia Serbia has connected West with East for centuries a land in which civilisations, cultures, faiths, climates and landscapes meet and mingle. It is located in the centre of the Balkan Peninsula, in southeastern Europe. The northern portion belongs to central Europe, but in terms of geography and climate it is also partly a Mediterranean country. Serbia is landlocked but as a Danube country it is connected to distant seas and oceans. Serbia is a crossroads of Europe and a geopolitically important territory. The international roads and railway lines, which run through the countrys river valleys, form the shortest link between Western Europe and the Middle East. From the agricultural regions of the Pannonian Plain in the north, across the fertile river valleys and orchard-covered hills of umadija, the landscape of Serbia continues southward, gradually giving way to mountains rich in canyons, gorges and caves, as well as well-preserved forests.

Prethodna Studija izvodljivosti izgradnje RVS Dubovac-Zrenjanin-Kikinda-Knjiga 2 1.

Essential natural assets – hydrographic characteristics, have undergone significant changes, because of which the Reserve is still endangered even today. To overcome these obstacles in the management of the Reserve, we have to turn to the idea of sustainable develop- ment, which should in addition to the ecological criteria comprise socio-cultural and economic criteria. • Tanulmányok – Studies Late Neolithic Tisza Sites in the Serbian Part of Banat
Archaeologiai Értesítő 142 (2017) 1–34 LATE NEOLITHIC© Akadémiai TISZA Kiadó, SITES Budapest 1 DOI: 10.1556/0208.2017.142.1 TANULMÁNYOK – STUDIES LATE NEOLITHIC TISZA SITES IN THE SERBIAN PART OF BANAT Neda Mirković-Marić–Miroslav Marić*1 The paper reviews the current state of research and our knowledge of the Late Neolithic Tisza tradition sites in the Serbian Banat. The first sites were discovered almost one and a half centuries ago, while the first archaeological excavations were undertaken in the late 19th century. The over- view of the known sites in the first part of the study is followed by data on fresh research that was resumed in the first decade of the 21st century. Keywords: Serbia, Banat, Neolithic, Tisza communities, Vinča communities A tanulmány a szerbiai Bánát területén fekvő késő neolitikus Tisza-kultúra lelőhelyeit tekinti át. Az első lelőhelyeket közel 100 éve fedezték fel, az első régészeti feltárásokat a 19. század végén végezték. Az ismert lelőhelyek áttekintését az újabb, 21. század első évtizedében folytatott kutatá- sok adatai követik.
