20 Monday, December , 1965 Number One Hundred Thirty Nine HIT OF THE WEEK; SHE’S JUST MY STYLE - Gary Lewis (Liberty) A giant and may be his biggest hit yet. CORRESPONDENTS PICK: SPREAD IT ON THICK - Gentrys (MGM) Pick of the week for Dick Buckley, George Klein, Johnny Draper and Jess Branson. "Spread it on me baby and I ’ll show you what a lover I am'1 and "Spread it on me baby and I'll show you what a lover you’ve found" bother me, as a matter of tasteful lyric. SOUTHERN SPECIAL: THE MEN IN MY LITTLE GIRL’S LIRE - Mike Douglas (Epic) Hottest new hit in Atlanta, with instant action in Charlotte, Pine Bluff and Nashville. Guaranteed to be a top request for you. HQ!1 ACTION RECORD: CRYING TIME - Ray Charles (ABC) Charted #1 in Houston at KILT and KNUZ. jfl at KOSA-Odessa. It's headed for the top ten in Washington and Atlanta. You should be playing this one. SMS CHOICE OF THE WEEK: DON'T BRING ME YOUR HEARTACHES - Paul & Barry Ryan (MGM) A mysterious mailer in London sent advance copies of this British smash to most of our correspondents, and it has already broken for Bob Reich. A top choice, from two fresh voices. The English ’newcomers' seem to be doing better than the established names. SMS ALBUM OF THE WEEK: EVERYBODY LOVES A CLOWN - Gary Lewis (Liberty) Hard to figure why "I Gotba Find Cupid" wasn’t or isn’t a single. WHEN THE BOYS MEET THE GIRLS - Sound Track (MGM) "Everybody Listen" by Herman’s Hermits, of course. Could be a strong single from a dull picture. SOUTHERN TOP TWENTY 1.
