WKIX-Raleigh collected 18,000 pounds of gifts on their own promotion and an additional 9,000 from WIST, WTOB and WHSL for "Operation Christmas." All have been flown to our troupe in Viet Nam. KLVI-Beaumont lineup: 5-9 AM Ron Wortham, 9-11 AM Don Williams, 11-3 PM Barry Sullivan, 3-6 PM Jay Hides, 6-12 AM Rod Wagener and 12-5 AM Duke Keith. KLVI's "Christmas Hop" contest is ‘underway.     Eric Laufer born 1982, grew up in West Seneca, N.Y. and was a 2001 graduate of East Senior High School. He started playing music at a young age, taking lessons in bass and electric guitar. He moved to Boston, M.A. at 19 to attend the Berklee School Of Music where he obtained his diploma in professional music. It was there that he met his band mates Jeff and Shane and they formed the music trio "The Two Timin’ Three", described as a fiery myriad of rock n‘ roll, pop, jazz and early punk with Rockabilly tendencies. With Eric as the lead singer and playing guitar they wrote and produced two albums "Where did you sleep last night" and "Payin' the Price". They toured for several years before relocating to Austin, Texas and adding Patrick a fourth band member, changing the name to "The Two Timin' four. As a foursome, they released "Dark before Dawn" and played music worldwide with some of music's heroes including Jerry Lee Lewis, Roy Head, Link Wray and Junior Brown. Eric was more than just a great musician. He was also a wonderful brother, a loving son, a hero to his younger cousins and niece, a loyal friend and an inspiration to many. On September 4th, 2008, Eric was riding his motorcycle home from San Antonio, where he played a weekly gig at “Logans" covering early rock and roll classics with some friends and calling themselves "Romantic Explosion". At 4:19am but 5 minutes away from home he was brutally killed by a hit and run driver who has yet to be found.

    Silver Eagle USA Discography by Mike Callahan, David Edwards & Patrice Eyries © 2018 by Mike Callahan Silver Eagle Discography Silver Eagle was a Canadian company headquartered near Toronto at 115 Apple Creek Blvd., Markham, Ontario, Canada. The label was a subsidiary of LaBuick & Associates Media, Inc., and label President was Ed LaBuick. The Media company specialized in TV marketing, and in addition to Silver Eagle also promoted Time-Life. In addition to LPs, Cassettes, and CDs, Silver Eagle also released videos. They established an office in the US at 4 Centre Drive, Orchard Park, NY (later, 777 N. Palm Canyon Dr., Palm Springs, CA), and often licensed product from the Special Products Divisions of the major record labels. They typically would pre-sell an album using 2-minute TV spots in stations across the country, then use that demand to place product in retail stores. They had their own manufacturing plant and distribution system, and according to LaBuick, sold many millions of albums. LaBuick later became head of the Music Division and Special Products Division of the major Quality Label in Canada. Note: All distributed by Silver Eagle unless noted otherwise.     1 2 3 As the state’s largest industrial city, Houston was a destination for many musicians looking for employment during the early 1900s Blues musicians migrated from the Mississippi Delta, especially during the Great Depression, and Texas blues was born. During this time, notable western swing musicians from the Fort Worth area also migrated to Houston in search of better economy. Along with Houston and Beaumont‐area musicians, they created a flourishing swing scene that evolved into a thriving dance hall and honky tonk scene. Looking for work, black Creoles from Louisiana moved to large, industrial east Texas cities such as Houston. Houston’s Frenchtown was important to the development of zydeco, which formed out of the mixing of Louisiana’s acoustic La La music with 4 urban blues and R&B. Tejano music was influenced by border music, and along with conjunto music, also had its roots in the early twentieth century and became a part of the fiber of Houston Music. 4 With ACA and Goldstar/SugarHill recording studios and labels Starday, Duke and Peacock, and D Records, Houston has long been a center for recording in the region. Although Thornton was born in Alabama, her career took off when she moved to Houston and began recording for Don Robey’s labels Peacock and Duke. Recorded at ACA in 1952, Big Mama Thornton’s “Hound Dog” spent several weeks at the number 1 positions on the Billboard charts in 1953.
