The ACMs did substantively what its audience has been forced, sometimes unwillingly, to do for the past six months: face up to systemic injustice in modern- day America. It didn’t necessarily have answers, but it demonstrated that the Mickey Guyton performed her ballad “What Are You Gonna Tell Her?” genre at least recognizes the world in which its listeners live.
