& DISTRICT PARISH COUNCIL NEW HOMES BONUS Tattenhall Parish stands to lose many thousands of pounds if the New Homes Bonus is withdrawn by CWaC. This could mean that projects such as the new playground; community buildings; modern and up to date CCTV; the restoration of Glebe Meadow; school parking area; Community Land Trust or Wildlife Conservation cannot go ahead.

The New Homes Bonus is money from Central Government paid to CWaC with the intention that at least some of it is passed to local communities to spend on improved infrastructure and is meant to offset the impact of new development. CWaC already keeps 80% of this money—now it wants to keep it all!

Please write to the Leader of the Council, Samantha Dixon, West and Council, HQ, Nicholas Street, Chester, CH1 2NP. email: [email protected] and demand that the Council withdraws this proposal.

With the help of all residents, we hope to keep the New Homes Bonus for the people of Tattenhall.

ST ALBAN’S PRAYER BOARD ‘Do not be afraid I have redeemed you. I have called you by your name. You are mine.’ (Isaiah43:1) As we enter in to 2016, St Alban’s Church is going to have the doors of the church open on a number of days so as to allow more people to come and have a quiet moment in the presence of their God. We have also realized that there are some people who have some prayer requests and would like the church to pray for them during services. There is a saying: "Prayer is when you talk to God and meditation is when you listen." I love that phrase because it points out a basic flaw that I think most everyone has committed from time to time. As from February 2016, the church is going to have a ‘Prayer Board’ in the porch where people can write their prayers and requests. God would like to have relationship with us all irrespective of our background. He wants us to talk to him about all things: good, the bad and the ugly. God knows everything about us but he wants us to talk to Him, just like when you talk to your best friend face-to-face. Prayer is important for our everyday Christian life. But what about praying for others? Is it essential? Did you know that many people in the Bible prayed for others? Here are some examples:

 Abraham prayed for Abimelech, his wife and other women to be healed. (Genesis 20:17)  The church prayed for Peter earnestly when he was imprisoned, he was able to get out of prison by an angel leading his way out! (Acts 12:6-19)  Paul also prayed for Timothy (2 Timothy 1:3)

Prayer requests left on the board will be offered to God during services held on Wednesday and Sundays. If you have any prayer request you would like to bring to the church for prayer or thanksgiving, then please do use the Prayer Board, at the entrance to the main door.
