ST ALBAN’S CHURCH, TATTENHALL SERVICES Sunday mornings 8am and 10.30am Last Sunday of the month 6pm Wednesday 10am ALPHA COURSE 2015 IS BACK Who is the Alpha Course for? The Alpha Course 2011 commences on Tuesday, 29th September. Alpha attracts a diverse range of guests of different ages and backgrounds, holding many different viewpoints. Over 7,000 churches are currently running the Alpha course across the UK in rural and urban settings. Why attend the Alpha course? Guests do Alpha for a wide variety of reasons - some want to investigate whether God exists; others are concerned about what happens after death. Some people have particular questions that they would like to discuss; others want to understand other peoples' beliefs or would like to explore what the purpose of life is. Many guests have never been to church, others may have attended church occasionally but feel they have never really understood the basics of the Christian faith. The next Alpha course begins in September. It will run for 13 weeks until December 2015. To register for the course, please contact our Alpha Administrator Andy Morris on 770323, or the Rector on 770245. Who is Alpha for? Alpha is for everyone; no question is out of bounds and you are free to discuss as much or as little as you wish. We don’t assume any background knowledge of or belief in Christianity and everyone is welcome. What is Alpha? Alpha is an opportunity to explore the meaning of life in an informal, fun and friendly environment. The Alpha course consists of a series of talks and looking at different topics. You don’t have to come to the whole course – just pop along for the first night and see what you think. No pressure. The course follows a simple and relaxed format- dinner when you arrive- watch a 30-40 minute DVD- discussion groups (with no pressure to talk you may just want to listen) Talks include: Who is Jesus? Why did Jesus die? How can I be sure of my faith? Why and how should I pray? Who is the Holy Spirit? How can I resist evil? Does God heal today? How can I make the most of the rest of my life? If these questions seem to be of interest to you, then all you have to do is to contact us. More details in the next parish magazine.
