Tabell & G. Baldizzone* Abstract Coleophora mareki Tabell & Baldizzone, sp. n. is described and its larval case illustrated. The new species was hitherto confused with its sister species C. chamaedriella Bruand, 1851. C. mareki occurs at low altitudes, and it is widely distributed in Central and Southern Europe and Asia Minor. The larval host is Teucrium chamaedrys L. The molecular divergence of C. mareki and related species is shown. KEY WORDS: Lepidoptera, Coleophoridae, Coleophora mareki , new species, Teucrium chamaedrys , Europe. Introduction The Coleophora serpylletorum species-group comprises four closely related Palaearctic taxa, namely C. serpylletorum E. Hering, 1889, C. chamaedriella Bruand, 1851, C. virgatella Zeller, 1849 and C. struella Staudinger, 1859. The moths of this group are characterized by white forewings with brownish stripes along veins , and the species cannot be strictly determined on the basis of the outer appearance alone. There have been difficulties as well when trying to determine specimens after genitalic study, using the available literature (RAZOWSKI, 1990; EMMET, 1996). In fact, the confusion has arisen from the poor knowledge of the identity of C. chamaedriella . This species has been considered to be easily recognizable due to its characteristic larval case and host plant, Teucrium chamaedrys L. However, we have found that there exists a further species of the serpylletorum -group with a similar biology but obvious differences in its genitalic structures. This taxon is described below as Coleophora mareki Tabell & Baldizzone, sp. n. Actually, most observations of C. chamaedriella at *Contribution to the knowledge of Coleophoridae, CXXVIII. 399 399-408 Coleophora mareki Tabel 5/9/14 12:56 Página 400 J. TABELL & G. In diesen 100 Jahren hat sich die Landschaft um Basel und damit deren Flora und Fauna stark verändert.

IOAN NEMEȘ” LEPIDOPTERA COLLECTION, THE MUSEUM OF NATURAL SCIENCES DOROHOI (BOTOȘANI COUNTY, ROMANIA) MIHAI STĂNESCU, CRISTINA AMARIE Abstract. The collection which belonged to the Prof. Ioan Nemeș (1924-2009), currently curated at the Museum of Natural Sciences Dorohoi (Botoșani County), is one of the most important and valuable collections of Lepidoptera preserved in a Romanian museum. Within this collection, a number of 47 type specimens have been identified, on which the descriptions of 28 species and other infraspecific taxa from 5 Lepidoptera families: Nepticulidae, Coleophoridae, Tortricidae, Crambidae and Geometridae have been based. All these specimens were collected from the territory of Romania. Some of the identified type specimens belong to taxa with doubtful status, whose original descriptions are poor and superficial. The discovery of these type specimens finally allowed assessing the status of several taxa, and the following new synonymies are proposed: Ancylis uncella (Denis & Schiffermüller, 1933) = Ancylis bucovinella Peiu & Nemeş, 1969 nov. syn.; Epiblema foenella (Linnaeus, 1758) = Epiblema foenella f. fracta Popescu-Gorj & Nemeş, 1965 nov. syn.; Pelochrista decolorana (Freyer, 1842) = Pseudeucosma alexinschiana Peiu & Nemeş, 1968 nov. syn.; Nascia cilialis (Hübner, 1796) = Calamotropha olarui Nemeş, 1972 nov. syn.; Scopula (Calothysanis) subpunctaria (Herrich-Schäffer, 1847) = Scopula peiui Olaru, 1973 nov. syn.; Idaea pallidata (Denis & Schiffermüller, 1775) = Sterrha constantineanui Olaru, 1973 nov. syn.; Idaea elongaria (Rambur, 1833) = Sterrha nemesi Olaru, 1973 nov. syn. Sok család fajai aknázó élet módot folytatnak ; némely családra jellemző a szemtakaró (Bucculatricidae, Leucopteridae), másokra a Szintén alsóbbrendű fejlődési fokot jelentő zsák készítés, amely a hernyók táplálkozási módjával függ össze (Coleophoridae, Caloptilia). A lepkék hátulsó szárnya általában igen keskeny, ék vagy lándzsa alakú ; a rojtok mindkét szárnyon nagyon hosszúak. Fejük rendszerint borza sán szőrözött. 17. család : PLUTELLIDAE - TARKA MOLYOK Szárnyai elég szélesek, hátulsó szárnyuk kihegyezett tojásdad alakú vagy ék alakú. Elülső szárnyuk bosszú, felső szegélyük a szárny kétharmada körül rendszerint megtörik, csúcsuk hegyes. A sejt igen megnyúlt, a külső szegély felé kiszélesedik, a vége élesen lemetszett. A sejt mellett bosszú melléksejt van, amelyik jóval közelebb kezdődik az rx eredetéhez, mint az r2-éhez.

  • Glos Species of Conservation Concern
Gloucestershire Key Wildlife Sites Handbook Part 3: Appendices Appendix 3 – Species of conservation concern in Gloucestershire This Appendix contains the reference species lists for use when assessing the minimum thresholds for selecting KWS on species grounds. General thresholds for different categories of species conservation status are detailed in Part 2 of the KWS Handbook, Section 2.6. Key species groups such at bats, amphibians and butterflies also have an accompanying rationale for site selection, provided by the relevant expert County Recorders. “Schedule” in the Status column of the species lists refers to schedules of The Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 (and subsequent amendments) unless otherwise stated. IUCN Red List refers to the IUCN Global Red List; National Red List is the national listing based on IUCN criteria but applied regionally rather than globally. A longer summary of the legislation and designation categories relating to species status is listed in Appendix 4 . The relevant threshold from the Species Criteria in Section 2.6 is included next to each species list, or individual species entry where applicable. Please note that these tables will be subject to regular updates as and when the status of species is reviewed, and that some species may occasionally be added to, or removed from, the lists. Species assemblage indices may also change from time to time. Please check that you have the latest version of Appendix 3 before assessing a site for KWS selection! If in doubt, a master list of all UK conservation designations is available from the JNCC website here: http://www.jncc.gov.uk/page-3408.
