MEDIA INFORMATION November 2013 2013 FIA World Endurance Championship Round 7: 6 Hours of Shanghai Victory for the N°1 AUDI R18 e-tron quattro/MICHELIN, as Tom Kristensen/Loïc Duval/Allan McNish secure the 2013 WEC Drivers’ title After the torrential rain that forced the organisers to halt the recent 6 Hours of Fuji after just 16 laps, all spent behind the safety car, Audi Sport Team Joest and Toyota Motorsport GmbH were both eager to join battle once again this weekend in China. In contrast to the conditions encountered in Japan, the 6 Hours of Shanghai was marked by clear skies and warm weather (air temperature: approximately 25°C, and track temperatures up to 30°C) which enabled the teams to produce yet another thrilling show, with the outcome only settled with less than half-an-hour remaining. The pole-winning N°7 Toyota TS030-Hybrid of Wurz/Lapierre carved out an early lead, while the N°8 sister car – with Antony Davidson in command – engaged in a fight with André Lotterer in the N°1 Audi R18 e-tron quattro. On Lap 10, the British driver succeeded in finding a way past to ease into second place. The two Japanese prototypes then proceeded to dominate the top of the leaderboard until the eventful 143rd lap (190 laps completed in total). After 4½ hours of racing, the N°8 Toyota TS030-Hybrid was suddenly eliminated when its front- right suspension failed under barking for Turn 6. This promoted the N°1 Audi to second spot, approximately half-a-minute behind the N°7 Toyota, thanks to a strong stint from Benoît Tréluyer in the German car, as well as to a couple of time-consuming „moments‟ for the Japanese team‟s Nicolas Lapierre while overtaking slower competitors. -

INFORMATION MEDIA Octobre 2013 Sixième manche : 6 Heures de Fuji 2013 La Toyota TS030-Hybrid de Kazuki NAKAJIMA s’impose à Fuji, Audi Sport Team Joest est Champion du Monde des Constructeurs Des victoires importantes, obtenues lors d’une course arrêtée à cause de la pluie battante Le ciel couvert par des nuages épais et la piste arrosée par une pluie battante n’ont cessé qu’à de rares moments. Voici les conditions dantesques dans lesquelles les concurrents des 6 Heures de Fuji 2013 ont pris le départ de la course à 11h00, derrière la safety car. Au bout de 8 tours, et une fois constaté que le manque de visibilité ne permettait pas de continuer à rouler en sécurité, le Directeur de course a imposé un premier drapeau rouge. Après plus de deux heures de parc fermé, les voitures ont recommencé à rouler, toujours sous la tutelle de la safety car. Encore 7 tours sont accomplis par les concurrents avant qu’un deuxième drapeau n’arrête à nouveau l’épreuve. L’attente dure jusqu’à 15h35 : les voitures reprennent la piste pour boucler un dernier tour avant la fin anticipée décrétée par les instances. Ainsi, les 6 Heures de Fuji 2013 se sont finalement achevées après 16 tours seulement, parcourus (à trois reprises) par les concurrents derrière la safety car. La Toyota TS030-Hybrid n°7 et le pilote japonais Kazuki NAKAJIMA (associé à Wurz/Lapierre) sont décrétés vainqueurs. Ils sont suivis sur le podium par le trio de pilotes officiels de l’Audi R18 e-tron quattro composé par Kristensen/Duval/McNish. -

The 95-year-long history of the 24 Hours of Le Mans is full of extraordinary feats. These figures help appreciate the magnitude of the race. High-Performance Culture 251.882 kph The average speed of the fastest lap in the history of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, recorded in 2017 by Kamui Kobayashi in the Toyota TS050 Hybrid during qualifying. He completed the 13.629-km lap in 3:14.791. 405 kph The top speed attained on the circuit by Roger Dorchy in a WM P88 on the Mulsanne Straight in 1988. This record has little chance of ever being broken as two chicanes have been installed on the straight since then. 5410.713 km The longest distance covered in the 24 hours (397 laps of the circuit), by the Audi R15+ TDI that won the race in 2010 in the hands of Romain Dumas, Timo Bernhard and Mike Rockenfeller. 1,000 hp The maximum output of the Toyota TS050 Hybrid LMP1 which has a twin-turbo internal combustion engine and two electric motors. 878 kg The minimum weight for an LMP1 hybrid, which is the same as a Smart Fortwo! An exhaustive list of eligible models is given in Appendix A. Where applicable, all referenced part numbers are for parts fitted to models as original equipment. !1 DiSCA Group C Sports Prototype ! Technical Regulations v.16.0 Technical regulations 1. Body 1.1. The body shell must be original and unmodified, as supplied with the model from new. 1.1.1. Body may be re-painted in authentic livery 1.1.2. Unpainted bodies are illegal 1.2. The original drivers cockpit may be replaced with a lexan copy with clearly defined dash, driver’s head, shoulders/bust and steering wheel. 1.2.1. All drivers cockpits must be decorated. Unfinished cockpits are illegal 1.3. All lenses and glass must be original and present 1.4. All spoilers and wings must be original and present. 1.4.1. Vulnerable parts may be rubber-mounted. Modifications must be sympathetic to the final appearance of the model 1.5. Any modifications not listed are illegal. Some prohibitions may be listed for clarity. R II. The term “Box Stock“ means the condition of the a model, or a spare components in the l original packaging, for their intended use. III. All the models and the Slot it coded spare parts must comply with the Box Stock condition a IV. The use of a free choice legal part or component shall not imply any change, replacement or omission not listed in this regulation. c i V. This set of rules covers the Slot.it Group C Box Stock and EVO classes. The parts allowed in Box Stock class is a subset of those allowed in the EVO class and, n whenever necessary, differences are made explicit in the relevant chapter. VI. Toyota Motor mantuvo su título como la marca de autos más valiosa del 2015, según un estudio de “BrandZ Top 100 Most Valuable Global Brands”. Toyota ha sido número uno en ocho de los 10 años, siendo BMW el número dos y Mercedes Benz tercera, de acuerdo con el estudio publicado por el investigador de mercado Millward Brown. “Cuando nos fijamos en la confianza de la marca Toyota genera a partir de los propietarios de automóviles, la experiencia del cliente, el valor y la calidad que los clientes, la marca Japonesa está por arriba de las demás”, dijo Brown. La división de lujo de Toyota, Lexus, superó a Hyundai para clasificar No. 10 gracias a su asociación con el lujo y la fiabilidad. Mientras que Lexus está orientada hacia los Estados Unidos, la marca sobrelleva sus modelos con una calidad absoluta, completa diferenciación, liderazgo y está muy bien dirigida a un público que le es sumamente fiel. Honda que también entro en el top 10 vio una caída de su valor por los efectos sufridos con los problemas de los Airbags Takata. Su valor de marca cayó un 5 por ciento, a $ 13,3 mil millones. The 2014 6 Hours of Bahrain: Tyre Strategies and World Titles
MEDIA INFORMATION November 2014 2014 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) 6 Hours of Bahrain The 2014 6 Hours of Bahrain: tyre strategies and world titles The 2014 6 Hours of Bahrain turned out to be an emotional event where Michelin tyres played a fundament role in the final outcome. The result settled a number of Drivers’ titles, with Toyota Racing’s Antony DAVIDSON and Sébastien BUEMI securing the top prize in LM P1, while the LM GTE Pro crown was sealed by AF Corse/Ferrari racers Gianmaria BRUNI and Toni VILANDER. Tyre strategy key in qualifying Qualifying practice for the 2014 6 Hours of Bahrain produced a contest in which tyre strategy helped Porsche Team to snatch pole position from Toyota Racing by mere tenths of a second. The German squad chose MICHELIN’s ‘soft high temperature’ compound, while Audi Sport Team Joest – which was represented by a single R18 e-tron quattro in qualifying – and Toyota Racing both opted for the French firm’s ‘medium high temperature’ alternative. The fastest lap was eventually posted by the N°14 Porsche 919 Hybrid in the hands of DUMAS/JANI who recorded a best time of 1m41.897s round the 5.412km Sakhir International Circuit, and an average lap of 1m43.145s. The N°8 Toyota TS040 Hybrid (DAVIDSON/BUEMI) was second fastest (+0.265s), followed by the N°20 Porsche 919 Hybrid (BERNHARD/HARTLEY, +1.046s). While Porsche’s choice proved judicious for qualifying, the question was whether it would be suitable for the start of the 6 Hours of Bahrain which took place with track temperatures standing at around 40°C, since the tyres used for qualifying had to be fitted for the first stint of the race? Romain DUMAS wasn’t sure… “I’ve been nominated to start the race in the N°14 Porsche and I think I will put on a good show for the spectators on soft compound tyres. -
