White House -- Albuquerque, New Mexico Tuesday

Albuquerque , New Mexico continued . The President and Mrs . Johnson left their room and were confronted bv throngs in the lobby and out in front of the Hotel. They shook hands and waved at all the crowds and then walked out into the street to smile and wave at the crowds lined U D outside of the barricades. The President and Mrs. Johnson walked down the stree t for 2 1/2 blokes shaking hands w/ all the people . They then boarded the Queen Mary and rode the entire distance to the school. Johnson Gymnasium was the site of the rally. The motorcade route had an esti nated crowd of 60,000 people. Upon arrival the President freshened up in a room that had been MST set up for him and then walked approx. 1 block to the site of the Gymnasium. REMARKS (police estimated 35,000) -&*~ After the President's remarks, he immediately departed for the airport -- Albuquerque Sun Port and drove straight there without stopping. Arrived airport. . Arrived LOS ANGELES CALIFORNIA Airport. -- Los Angeles International Airport. The President was greeted by: Governor and Mrs. Edmund Brown. Senator and Mrs • Pierre salinger, Congressman Edward R. Roybal (mrs.?): Congressman Charles H. Wilson (mrs?) Congressional candidate Jerry Gottlieb and a group of Pilots and Stewardess for Johnson Bands and crowds greeted the President and Mrs. Johnson. They entered their cars and in the car w/ the President were: Governor Brown, Senator Salinger. Congr. Roy bal. The motorcade departed along a motorcade route. . . .that went along a freeway Entered city limites .... crowds were 3 and 4 deep . Stopped. (The President was standing in his trench coat waving his hat). . . .many signs were waved . . .The motorcade stopped 5 min. later (12:00) and after that every S minutes for 10 minutes a period. The President Mrs. Johnson, and Senator Salinger would stand up and wave to the crowds and talk through the bullhorn. The crowds were 5 and 6 deep. Arrived at steps of City Hall. A platform had been set up on the steps and the crowds were gathered in front of it. (150,000 police estimate of crowd at City Hall and along route) On the platform w/ the President were: Lt. Arrived March AFB, California . The President was greeted by:

Moved out onto the freeway in the bubble top. Schoolchildren were at an interseacton, and the President slowed his car down to wave at them. Arrived city limits of RIVERSIDE , CALIFORNIA (Always on each trip, before entering the city proper, the President's limousine would stoop to unfurl the flags and put 2 Secret Service men on the bumper of the car. At the entrance of the city, the President got out of his car and waved at the crowds -- then got into the Queen Mary w/ Senator Salinger, Governor Brown and Mrs. Johnson. The crowds were 3 and 4 deep. The Presidential motorcade stopped a t another intersection and again 10 minutes later at the corner Where a band was playing "Hello Lyndon" SS follow up car Queen Mary is October 28, 1964

Bands were playing in full form and all along the buildings , U. S. flags were unfurled to greet the President. A local department stor e had approx. 20 flags along the front of the building. The motorcade again stopped and the President climbed atop his car and spoke thru the bull horn. arrived at the Frank C. Platt Building -- houses Platt Realty Company This is the building where the President ^j years ago operated an elevator. He went into the eleveator w/ Mrs. Johnson -- and said. to the photogs that were taking his picture -- to the "Hurry up fellas .... I got a call for upstairs" the crowds in the lobby all laughed, bathroom The President walked to the Speaker's platform that had been set up down the street for the President. The President signed autographs along the way REMARKS (29 applauses) (Plice estimated the crowds to be 70,000) (The President described himself to the crowds as the "only old resident of San Bernadino on the ticket this year!". . .that began an ovation of 2 min. -- "We Want Johnson" On the platform w/ the President were: Retiring Cong. Harry Sheppard, Assemblyman John Quinby, Governor and Mrs. Brown, Senator and Mrs. Pierre Salinger, 10 local dignitaries. The Presidential motorcade departed for Norton AFB arriving at 6:25 -- crowds greeted the President at the airport and he toured by and waved at them .... October 28, 1964
