Keterangan: Danau Tasikardi dibangun pada masa Sultan Maulana Yusuf, merupakan penampung air yang digunakan untuk keperluan irigasi pertanian dan sumber air bersih di Kesultanan Banten. Untuk memproses air bersih, air diproses menggunakan sistem pangindelan (penyaringan) melalui tiga tahap, yaitu: Pangindelan Abang, Pangindelan Putih dan Pangindelan Emas. Bismillahirrahmanirrahim Tiada kata yang pantas terucap selain rasa syukur kepada Allah SWT., atas pertolongan-Nya, buku dengan judul Membaca dan Menggagas NU ke Depan: Senarai Pemikiran Orang Muda NU bisa terbit di hadapan sidang pembaca. Kami ucapkan banyak terima kasih kepada Litbang PCNU Ponorogo dan PC ISNU Ponorogo atas prakarsa dan kerja kerasnya menerbitkan buku Senarai Pemikiran ini. Buku ini diharapkan bisa menjadi awal perkembangan dan transformasi tradisi NU di Ponorogo, yakni dari tradisi oral ke tradisi tulis. Sebagaimana NU kaya akan tradisi, akan tetapi pembacaan terhadap tradisi tersebut tidak banyak didokumentasikan dalam bentuk buku. Padahal buku lebih memungkinkan untuk dibaca dan diapresiasi banyak kalangan, bahkan lintas generasi sekalipun. Inilah makna silsilah atau transmisi keilmuan yang tidak asing lagi bagi masyarakat NU. Membaca judul buku ini berikut topik-topik yang ditawarkan, buku ini bisa dinilai sebagai bentuk otokritik terhadap “kemapanan” tradisi NU di Ponorogo. Budaya otokritik sesungguhnya bukan hal yang asing, bahkan menggejala dalam tradisi agama dan keagamaan, serta organisasi keagamaan. Otokritik atau kritik internal dari pemeluk agama, atau penganut organisasi keagamaan mempunyai nilai yang sangat strategis. Otokritik adalah penanda kesadaran untuk bangkit dan maju sesuai dengan dinamika kemajuan zaman. Senyampang kritik tersebut tidak mengarah pada relativisme, atau bahkan nihilisme. Karena “menjadi maju” tidak bermakna meninggalkan v Membaca dan Menggagas NU ke Depan sama sekali tradisi dan nilai-nilai adiluhung, akan tetapi mengawinkan tradisi dengan semangat zaman. Tanpa ada perkawinan antara tradisi dan kemajuan zaman, justru organisasi ini akan ditanggalkan oleh para anggotanya. Bukankah NU mempunyai slogan al-muhafadah ‘ala al-qadim al-shalih wa al-akhd bi al-jadid al-ashlah.

Locality and cultural identity aspects are very important to create humane cities in the midst of globalizing world. Kauman Semarang is the city’s cultural identity which has lasted for more than three centuries. Traditionally, Kauman is a village in downtown which reflects Moslem daily live. The physical and social characteristicschange are the reaction of modernization-capitalization pressure of the downtown. The purpose of the research is to find out how Kauman adapts to the incoming pressures. The research was based on ethnographic method by combining ideographic and architectural approaches. In the end of the research, it found that there is a spatial control having protective characteristic or a control of spatial protection conducted by the community. Socio- religious values have influenced in strengthening socio-religious space that produces immaterial products associated with the community’s mentality. Meanwhile, the modernization-capitalization pressures influence the form of significantly developed busi- ness-commercial space, and their products are eventually used to support the socio-religious activities. Spatial protection strategy is an answer for the problem of modernization-capitalization pressures in downtown.

    DUA RAGAM MAKNA PADA “RUANG DARI MASA LALU” DI PERMUKIMAN KAUMAN YOGYAKARTA Suastiwi Triatmodjo Staf Pengajar Desain, Fakultas Seni Rupa, ISI Yogyakarta Abstract As traditional settlements, the Kauman in Yogyakarta had been born along with the founding of the city and the Yogyakarta Kingdom in 1755. This settlement rich with spaces and buildings of the past such as the City’s Great Mosque, the Ndalem Pengulon, the Ketibs’ and batik marchants’ houses, and many more. Here, space derived from the past was not only have a single meaning, for the inhabitants of Kauman Yogyakarta spaces from the past are rich with meanings. The main ingredient in this paper is part of a research for dissertation. By using phenomenological method the research was able to reveal some diverse and distinctive meaning of spaces. This is consistent with the aims of Husserlian model in phenomenologyical method, which basically want to reveal and understand the essential meanings of objects (spaces) according to the point of view of the informants or in this case the inhabitants of the settlement. Kauman Yogyakarta usually viewed as a traditional settlement with a strong cultural dan religious background, and until now it is still survive in Yogyakarta downtown. The problem in the main research is: What is the current meaning of Kauman residential space for its inhabitants? This article would only describe the two kinds of meanings that had been successfully reducted from the citizens empirical feeling when experi- encing “the spaces from the past.” Those two meanings are The space needs to be preserved and The (space of) past that still survive.

    CHAPTER 3 The Potrait of Violation on Freedom of Religious/Belief In this session, SETARA Institute elaborates some specific cases which objectively presenting the situation of freedom of religious/ belief in Indonesia. There are too many cases which capture the incidents and violation actions on freedom of religious/ belief in 2012. We purposely choose some of cases to be explored and give the public -- which concern to the issue of human rights advancement – which in our perspective very clearly become the specific portraits of real situation reflecting freedom of religious/ belief along 2012. Some of chosen cases are: case of HKBP Filadelfia at Bekasi, case of churches sealing in Aceh Singkil, case of Shia Sampang II, case GKI Yasmin at Bogor, case of Ahmadiyah at Tasikmalaya Jawa Barat, and case of local Syaria Regulation in West Java.
